biostar 550 wont post

first vid card was defective out of box put my vid card in it posted got replacement vid card back wont post and my straight pci or pci-e wont post either im usin the enermax 465 one with 33 amp on 12 volt rail and a x2 3800 what am i doin wrong?? please help :confused:

Check the jumpers (CMOS Jumper)
Check all the connections.
Pull the battery and press the power then put it back.
Take the memory out and try to power on see if it beeps.
Use 1 stick of memory and try powering up.
Use a different slot for memory.
Use different memory if available.
Did I mention it smells like memory?
Can someone continue the standard procedure list?
One more thing: If all else fails just :bsod:

tried everything but battery but its lookin like motherboards dead because someone i know with exact same model says theres 2 led light on board and guess what i checked in a dark room the leds arent comin on and i tried everything but the battery

you have to take the batter out to clear the cmos, and did you try a different psu

psu is brand new enermax 465 with 33 on 12 volt rail and i did the battery nothing what happened is i had it running installed windows forgot vid card wasnt tied down vid card died :( put my card in system worked got new card still wouldnt post this time doesnt matter what video card and as i said i know someone with same exact revision and everything he said theres 2 leds and neither come on on my board but cpu fan and fan on motherboard spin :rolleyes:

maybe its not getting enough power?, just because it turns one doesn't mean its good, test the voltages with a volt meter

what are the rest of the specs of your system?

enermax 465 one with 33 amp on 12 volt rail 7100 gs holdover till more $$ video onboard sound 400 gig seagate sata and nec dvd burner some gpc ram 2 gigs of this http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA23554 and i tried my roomates ddr2 so its not the ram

probably the motherboard then, but maybe it is the cpu?

but would cpu cause leds on board to go dead?? i mean i bet if i pull cpu leds are still off biostars 30 miles down street im packin the board and going there monday and taking my brass knuckles "just in case" ;)

if the board cant find the cpu the lights wouldn't come on would they?

the lights are there to show that, a particular component has been detected right?

but if you read biostar manual the lights are supposed to do a certain thing if it cant detect cpu EDIT both lights off is chipset or cpu error

then i guess you should rma the motherboard and then go from there

if thats the same psu in youre sig as the one sold at fryes ill send you a M80 firecracker for it get rid of it my friend had it it took out his board and video card no bull

i say bios on the motherboard got fubared cause like i moved the vid card on my pc 1 time "NOT THIS PC THIS WAS ANOTHER PC A WHILE BACK" and my pc blue screened in windows then got so bad it would bsod in bios i had to redo bios i believe a few more boots it would not have posted thankfully i had the bios on a cd :slobber:

try a 24 hour bios clear, take out the power connectors, take out the batter, move the cmos jumper, and push the power button down for a couple of seconds so the caps will drain

was cpu or board got rma replacements from newegg windows is installed im stock need better air cooler before any overclocking what best aircooler uses stock brackets/mounts??? thanx :toast: :banana:
