Here are my specs:

amd x2 3800+ (was at 2.5 GHz) right now running at stock
gigabyte k8nf-9
4 x OCz Premiere Series 512 sticks = 2GB
7900GS @ 630/1.67
ocz gamextreme 600w

I used to get a super pi time of 35 seconds when I had the cpu at 2.5 GHz and 2x OCz Premiere Series 512 sticks = 1GB. After installing 2 more sticks of memory my super pi time went all the way to 39 seconds!!! :stick:

Today I put my cpu to stock for the heck of it and this is what I got....

That is sooooo slow I cannot believe my eyes. What an I do to the ram to make my cpu to fuction like it was before :(

thanks in advance!

edit: here are the model #s on the memory modules

you switched from 1T command rate into 2T and that should give you a noticeable drop in performance especially with socket 939

Edit : you are the guy from HM

hey kemo :) yep thats me from HM

damn this memory is so not worth it even though I got it for free... that is a HUGE drop in performance

edit: something just caught my eye:
in everest two modules have timings of :

2.5-3-3-7 @200MHz
and other two have

3.0-4-4-8 @200MHz
2.5-3-3-7 @166MHz

That means that you are running on the slowest either 3.0-4-4-8 @200MHz or 2.5-3-3-7 @166MHz so try to set it manually 2.5-3-3-7 @ 200MHZ and check if it is stable when i Google with serial numbers you provided in the first post , i find that both rated 2.5-3-3-7 so give it a try , also it will be nice to see what CPUz reading on the memory speed

Sp likes the tight timings of your first ram .
you sould memtest it as well I know my tccd doesnt like cas 3 @ all

The performance increase in large games and such way outnumbers the 2T issue. So ignore it and live with it.

here is what the bios settings look like: (the stuff in red is what I changed)

What else should I change?

ps. superpi results are still same

@Shintai: so no impact on games whatsoever?

No he means that some games will gain advantage of 2GB over 1GB especially while running some apps @ the background , try running some 3D mark 06 and compare your score , you will find that the difference is negligible for gaming
