On my DFI LANPARTY UT CFX3200-DR I can set 10% extra voltage to my gpu and some others, and I can set maximum voltage manually higher than 75W, and 25W for one, don't actually remember what that was., but anyway.

But what I really want to know is that, do anyone else actually tried this, or do anyone know if this has any effect at all? I set the extra 10% on, and adjusted each watt up to 80W instead of 75, and the 25W I adjusted to 80W... this is just a MAX WATTAGE option I know, but does it really give any more output to the card? :confused:

That 25w one is the PCI-Express x1 connector.

I would assume that even though the wording says wattage limit, it would probably actually give that much to the slots. But then again, what do I know?

That's kind of the way I figured it to. I don't think it actually will give more power, but if it needs it it's there to use. It's really the amperage on PSU that gives the real power anyway. Even though it's not quite the highend I'm more pleased with my Apewia Chameleon 550W than the one I had before, a ThermalTake TR2 550W - that was really lousy.

According to BigToe's guide, they're supposed to aid in overclocking the video card, but I haven't noticed any difference either way with my 1800GTO @ 705/756 (1.45/2.4v). I've heard these options also increase heat output in voltage regulators, I'm thinking one on the mobo, but probably also on the video card itself.

I was able to clock it a little higher with the setting in bios set to 250 Watt, but.... read the following...

I tried atitools and the overclock-program, but it didn't seem to function properly... and yes I closed all the proper settings beforehand :) I think I tried all atitools available on one site. 0.24, 0.25 beta 9 to 15 and 0.26 ... none of them worked! I've tried it before and then it atleast showed the right clocks, but now it just showed 0mhz or 15mhz or 55mhz... I don't get it!

Well... uninstalled all of them after having about a zillion reboots, and tried the CCC 7.2, now the overclocks aren't seemless anymore, like in 6.2 or something, the overclocks there are made in steps like this:

CORE: 621 -> 628 -> 634 -> 641 -> 648 -> 655 -> 662 -> 668 -> 675 -> 682 -> 688 -> 690

RAM: 747 -> 756 -> 765 -> 774 -> 783 -> 792 -> 800

What's this all about? Have they changed the ram timings to match these clocks? I still need atitool to function properly to be able to give it more volts, but it won't f***ing work! Got any ideas anyone?

Topic dead? Nobody got any ideas for software I can use to give my x1800xt more juice?

I used atitool 25 beta 11 & 14 for me X1800XT and disabled both the ati services. Could it be your catalyst version? Last I used with X1800 was cat 5.13.

Ok, I stopped both services, uninstalled ccc 7.2, installed ccc 6.5 (it was the earliest version found on ati website) and installed v 25 b14 of atitool, first i didnt find it there either, but when i changed which card to clock i found it now... i didn't before... thank you very much, now i can let the games begin! :D

Did you by the way increase voltages? ;)

I set mine to:

VGPU: 1.375
MVDDC: 2.113
MVDDQ: 2.113

Do you think this is in the safe zone on stock cooling... set fan to the "below 60c" option... so it always boosts up when it gets hotter.

Just watch your temps. With cold air and stock cooler at full speed i could use highest voltage for core without a problem but only for short 3d benches obviously. When you increase voltage for core youll notice that mem wil OC further as wel. There's no need to increase volts for mem, in me case mem clocked better with a little less volts then stock, only voltage i set higher was vcore.

You helped alot! Managed to get 5129 points in 3DMark06 with 675 core/805 (1610) DDR3.... but that was just once... then everything flipped more than flipper himself.. lol :D Trying to turn down ramvolts and setting gpucore to 1.4, seems like a nice place... have it very stable on 666/778.5 now... not xtreme, but stable OVER stock atleast... going to tune it up to see where it ends on 1.4V... still want to run the thing a year more ;)

Stock 3D voltage is 1.3 iirc. A little over 1.4v wont hurt. I could run 750 on core 3D benchable. Keep an eye on temp.

Thanks loc.o... your tips really helped me out, got a much better oc now, 680/819 so far, but are not done yet... and this is stable for gaming, that's what I want, more stable gaming power... now that the 8800 is out some games really want more power as well, then the two, three year old x1800xt needs more juice to get along as well ;)... Now I belive, at this speed, it's even faster than the x1950xt(x)... But I'll try gaining more, am positive that I will, after your tips here :D
