So I just got my new EVGA 8800GTS 320 Superclocked vid card today. Put it in and proceeded to ran 3dmark06. I was very disappointed to say the least.

I'm using the 101.41 drivers. Can anyone tell me if theres anything wrong? Or is this a normal score for a system like mine? Is it Vista?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Crap I put this in the wrong section as there is now a sub forum for this type of post. Please move and sorry.
Try 100.65
You should get at least 10K. If not something is wrong with your install/drivers/config/cooling/anything

Something is amiss for sure. My X1900XTX gets me 6500 with my 2.84ghz X2 4800+. I doubt my 40mhz increase on the cpu nets me that much of a score increase. For me I get 2505 SM2, 2903 SM3, 2165 CPU.

Obviously AA/AF was turned off and IQ set to High Performance ?

With 640MB 8800GTS I can get ~6100 with a Sempron 2800 @ 2.56GHz and ~8200 with X2 3800+ @ 2.8GHz, that's with 95.47 though in XP SP2. I'd try a different driver first.

check your PCI Express speeds with CPUZ.
I figured it out. Call me stupid, but I had put the 8800 in the lower PCIe slot (secondary) instead of the main slot. Apparently this had the aforementioned impact. My only guess is that it was running in 8x mode instead of the full 16x mode?
Anyways before I realized my error I proceeded to reformat my comp and install XP back. The scores stayed relatively the same. After I put the card in the primary slot here is my score:

Just a small notice first run 2.8GHZ = 2068 CPU score , second run 2.75GHZ 2091 CPU score  ,i do realize that with the first run the OS is not optimized but the different shouldn't be that big
Yeah I clocked down the FSB a bit to install Windows. Your guess is as good as mine as to why the CPU score was higher

and 3D mark report 16MB less of memory in the second run :D
WTF... Ok I hadn't noticed that
