Hey there XS people :)
I'm writing a windows installer for folding at home, to make it easier to set it up for multiple instances. I have a thread for it at futuremark, for which I also fold, and I would like to keep it there and not have allot of them across the net but I thought I maybe should post it here to. I know it says Team FM, but you can put in any team number you want offcourse and maybe you people will find it coming in handy to. And the more feedback I get, the better I can tweak or edit features.
The link is in my signature, the right one :toast:

Looks very tidy Martian, I'm fixing a dead machine or two here this week so will hopefully have a chance to give it a go

Hey Martian I finally had a go with your installer last night, I must say that I like it - it's nice not to really have to think about what client you've got to download and make shortcuts, add flags etc :D
I tried it on the Win32 SMP & it worked a treat, only one thing briefly confused me - and that is after the F@H SMP installer has completed, and the program asks you to browse to a folder, it wasn't completely clear to me what folder I should be looking for. It was the program folder where install.bat is located; maybe some kind of message to make it more clear that you should select the F@H Program Folder, and/or default it to open at "C:\Program Files\Folding@Home Windows SMP Client v1.01" (annoying version number in there though). Also I noticed 2 typo's in the final message after completing the install iirc - 'with' & 'automatically'
I hope you don't think I'm being annoying, I ran the installer without reading your guide on purpose really to see if anything wasn't completely obvious to an idiot like me, and I only point out these minor problems because I think this is a brilliant utility & well worth polishing & continued development

code it in NSIS, then you can have like a config window where you can enter your username, and team number (default the team number to 36362). automatically detect multiple cores and set machine id correctly, and have a option to install service.
