Is sapphire a bad brand for ati graphic card? My card DVI just broke after 6 months of useage. I was looking at there forums and it seems a lot of their cards have this problem. What brand should I look for when buying ATI cards?

As far as I know Saphire has never had a bad rep. I've read plenty of posts of various cards that have died or been RMA'd including ATI brand cards. Saphire's niche has more or less been to price there cards at a lower cost.
My honest opinion is that vid card manufacturers are hitting the limits of high performance cards that are air cooled. My vid card could easily hit a scorching 85c using the packaged software that came with it. I use ATITool vs. the packaged software and set my fan speeds up to my liking and keep the temps where I want them. But I read posts about guys who state there cards hit anywhere from 85c to 130c. Is it any wonder that vid cards are cooking? I don't like it when my card gets up over 60c. I'd prefer no more than 50c but that means water cooling in my case.
In your case its hard to to say what happened to the card. About all you can do is read forums and spot patterns. Perhaps Saphires QC is slipping and the rest of us haven't read about it yet. Either way it would be good to know since all manufacturers will be gearing up for DX10 cards in the near future.

sapphire is a very good brand. I'm still using my Sapphire 9700 Pro, from, 2002 december, or was it 2001, feels like it's been so long now.

yeah when you go to any support forum all you will read about is problems but that doesn't mean they are bad it's just all part of the whole process
customers these days buy goods expecting not to break down in warranty period
it is unrealistic to think that and many :banana::banana::banana::banana: and moan and :banana::banana::banana::banana: and moan and :banana::banana::banana::banana: and moan......not saying the OP is but you get my point when you visit support site....don't expect roses and tulips
