i just got a 2.4c and whacked it onto my it7-max2 rev 1.0... 220fsb right now, original voltage w. corsair xms3500... one prob though, it sucks!?

bandwidth is really low, benchmarks are crap... how come? i want it too be normal!

mem timings are cas2-7-3-3, 1:1 ratio, 2.6v.

any help? thx...

Welcome to the Xtreme ^bot and Resurrected !!! glad to see both of you here ! ;)

Try OCing it with the 5:4 divider ^bot ! It should provide you with the best overall performace.

didn't the 845PE chipset usually crap out at 220FSB? I don't think it's your chip, you just need a springdale/canterwood.

Yea definitely change the divider. And glad to be here Major

im finally here =) yuss!

hmm... cpu:mem @ 5:4? running the mem slower...? yäyä, i'll try when i get back from work =)

i got the i845P chipset... not even PE... and im gonna get a canterwood soon, but need other stuff first.

running the system w/o thermal paste aswell... couldnt find any =D but i want it to work properly! bloody hell...
thx anyway!

ok, back from work... and i think i need a bios update or sumthing...
i dont have then 5:4 divider, and when i use then 4:3, it just freezes when trying to post the memspeed etc... even using the §§§§tiest timings :(

any other ideas? i dont rly enjoy a bandwith of 1000mb/s! :/

aha!
bios updated... now it recognizes the cpu as one with HT, and my mem is up to normal speed again! happiness!! its not very high though, but its only running at 215mhz single channel.

i couldnt update bios before since im afraid of floppys, and now i found the flashmenu... perfect... so everything works fine now, its time to start overclocking!

over and out...

well its going quite a bit better now, only wish i had the 5:4 ratio, 4:3 is too big...

well, im running 234fsb now with cas2-7-3-3 timings... i kinda like it since its a pretty old mobo! 2 bad i got such a crappy mem speed, only 174 or sumthing :(

can i get the 5:4 in any way? hacked bios etc? anything?

yo malta!

^bot, what do you get in sandra mem?
I have a it7.v2 and now I sold my LOVELY 1.6a and I'm not sure what to buy: 2.66/533 or 2.6/800 (the first is cheaper)
one of the problems is the FSB; indeed you have got a very high FSB; ABIT claims FSB220 to be the highest achievable in IT7.

about bench, what's better, fsb220 1:1 or fsb234 4:3?

i get 2700 in sandra memtest... so its not very good at all, i think im gotta hop down to 220 and go 1:1, i gotta see how high i can push my xms3500...

i had a 2.4b before, and it didnt clock at all... therefore i sold it (very expensive :)) and bought this one from malaysia for the same price =) i wanted this one because it can stay in the game for quite a while, when i get a new mobo, i can still use it and get a pretty damn high o/c...

a 2.6 would be better, but i didnt wanna spend any money at all, free upgrade is nice =)

^bot, your XMS doesn't go higher?
what voltage are you using?

Just curious does hyperthreading actually work? I know it shows it when posting with the newer bioses. But like open task manager, and see if you have cpu 0/1 listed.

I have an original IT7-Max, just an i845e. If hyperthreading actually works, i'll sell my 1.6a (does 2.6), and pick up a 2.6 C processor. :)

i have the i845e aswell, and the HT does actually work. i see two graphs in the taskmanager, and getting the bios that supports HT (latest) did huge differences! although i have to use winxp...

my xms goes to abt 225 @ 2.8v... im having some small problems with it, random stuff like wont wake up from screen stanby and coldboot... yäyä, its not meant to have this kinda cpu, but it works =)

its kinda fun i can get 250fsb, but its not stable at all =)

Thaks for responding ^bot.

I'm gonna bring home some processors, 2.4/2.6/2.8 and see what they can do. I hope this board will do at least 220mhz 1/1 because it'll make for a damn fine w2k3 server.

Hyperthreading and support up to 12 IDE devices, hmmm, oh yeah and Raid 5 support. I knew this board was worth holding on to :)

since im afraid of floppys
woohoo I thought it was just me :D
I havent used floppy since the 1900's :D
when I flash bios I use an old Hdd.

MudWhistle: Can you get raid 5 support? hell, i had no idea =D

only got one hd now anyway so it doesnt rly matter... but the board is pumping on nicely here, getting new and more stable psu now... happyness
