Has anyone here had experience with PNY brand RAM?

It has been said that they are exactly the same chips and PCB
as the "True Samsung" modules. Could this be true?

My reason for asking is because Best Buy has a $30 rebate
going on PNY modules.

256Mb pc2700 = $15 after rebate

512Mb pc2700 = $40 after rebate

The very same thing sells for $84 at NewEgg. PNY 512Mb pc2700 (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=20-146-861&refer=pricewatch)

pc2700 would be good for light overclocks in 266fsb boards
would they not?

If those PNY sticks are any good I might pick up two.:D

ThanX for the reply JNav89GT.
From the lack of responces it would appear that
few here have experience with PNY modules.

Good tip on the chips. From what I've read the Samsung chips
are superior to the Infenion. Unlike buying online, at least at
Best Buy you can look at them before you buy.

I'll post up which they are when I go out later today.

the pny will have the samsung DTL's not the CTL's
if you can find the CTL's then :)
but the DTL aren't that great IMO

I got a free stick after rebates from Staples. It was the pc2100. It had Samsung tcc4's on it (same as on pc3200).

It got to around 205 on crappy crappy timings.

My OCZ DC EL 2700 are much better sticks.

They do 210 2,3,7,3 24x7. at 2.77v
