Need some advice guys. I have a Antec TruePower 2.0 TrueControl II 550W power supply running a DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR nForce4 SLI Athlon 64(FX)/Sempron Skt939 DDR ATX Motherboard with a Evga Nvidia 7800gt. I also have it running a water cooled set up with a Danger Den DD12V-D5 Pump. I have 3 120mm fans on a thermochill radiator. I have had it all running for about 1 year and a half. Over the past few days the computer seems to be shutting off. I took it the PS out and used some compressed air to blow the dust out of it and it seems to do some good. however after about 20 minutes it shut down again. Is there anything else I can do or is it time to buy a new power supply.
Suggestions, comments?

Thanks
Jeremy

Look through the fan grill, check to see if you can spot any leaky caps. My guess is the crap Fuhjyyu caps that those were populated with have gone bad.

if they have gone bad does that mean but a new PSU or is those fixable? If that is the case what PSU would you advise getting. I will be running dual 7800gt's in sli as well as the above pc specs

Thanks

It is fixable if you know your way around with a soldering iron and replacing circuit board components. badcaps.net has info on good caps and you can order some from there. But seeing that your PSU is only a year and a half old it is still under warranty so I'd RMA it to Antec.

If you want to get a different PSU there are many good ones out there. I like my Corsair 620W unit, overkill but it gives me room to grow later. Your system would be fine with the 520W unit I would think.

RMA it...but if you'd prefer to upgrade to a better quality psu, take this one: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5150GH

I just called called antec. They sent me an email on how to get the RMS process started. I just filled the form out. Hopefully I will get a good response soon. I will update when I have more information.
