Bought me a used Asus X1300 128MB sometime ago, afterwards I found the GPU was pretty beaten (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=56611&stc=1&d=1173820430). But hey, it worked. It sure worked. Until yesterday when I remounted the waterblock on the card...
- Don't ask why I watercool a X1300 -

After the remount I fired it up: Windows loading animation works. The login screen doesn't. A blank screen greets me and the monitor looses signal. Apparently the OS crashes as there's no HDD activit nor could I login blindfolded after the blackout.

Reboot. Same thing happens. Boot in safemode: hello desktop!
After several bootups and a few waterblock remounts I go about and uninstall Catalysts in safemode.
To my surprise XP login screen works again. Reinstall Catalyst. Back to square one: Login screen goes blank.

It seems the card is now Catalyst/Omega -incompatible, for some reason that is beyond me. I'm not expecting this thing to recover but maybe someone has an explanation what exactly happened?
