this was after i tried to chnge resolution

so i tried changing monitors but still the same. so i then cleaned my card and reinstalling it but still i got the problems

can a card partly die like this? i always thought if the GPU dies then you got a black screen but can it half die?
unfortunatley i dont have any spare to check :(
just wana be sure it s the card before i get a new 1 any advise would be much apprecaited

thanks :toast:

Sorry took so long for a reply but account just got activated for me.Any how have been able to get 2 different cards to come back by reflashing the bios. Why your card quit at the point you say does seem odd tho.Have had some friends pull the cards out and not shut off the monitor before unpluggint it from video card and it killed the card. Reflash with no screen can be difficult but may work...

I agree, attempt to reflash the bios

Heres how:

Sounds like something pretty catastrophic has happened to the card, try a different version of Catalyst, and check the temperatures. Maybe try underclocking the card, then try the BIOS reflash, other than that it sounds like a mullered card :(
