Well, I got my Chilly 1 today, hooked everything up, powered it up the first time, it went past the count down, starting cooling the evap, then the gfroster said "Checking PSU, PSU Failed, Press Power". Did that, attempted to turn on again, and now I cant even get the evap to start cooling. It just does the countdown, which gets down to 0, then the unit shuts down. Any ideas whats up?

Is you power supply connected (turned on)?

Is you power supply connected (turned on)?
Yes, the power supply was connected to the wall, and the mobo, and turned on (the blue mobo light was lit). The Chilly1 Unit was connected to the PSU through a 4 pin molex, and to the mobo through the power on (the case power on was connected to the chilly). I believe I did everything correctly, however, after multiple attempts the results did not change. The unit would countdown, then upon reaching 0, it would shut off.

just short the black and green cables on the PSU (24-pin connector) and see if it will run on its own

You need to check afew things here.
Are all the cables connected as the Froster manual.
If you dont have the manual download it from here :
http://www.arctic-frost.co.uk/gfroster.htm
You can also get the software control panel from that link also.
Make sure all the connections are secure and correct. When the countdown finishes does the screen stay on what does it say? This will help alot!
Maybe the connection to the compressor from the module has come loose hence no cooling.
If your gonna check anything within the unit ask the builder first and make sure the mains is disconnected. Also be aware that some compressors use start caps and these hold charge.
Post back with what is on the screen when cooling is supposed to start.

Does Chilly1 have it setup to connect to a serial port? He may have it setup some way I'm not familiar with .
Unplug it from the wall for a minute or two and try again.
BTW - The module will shock the snot out of you so be careful.

RunMC their is no way to do that as far as I am aware. It doesnt need to be attached to serial at all for it to work.
I agree on the module hence I said disconnect from the mains this is a must!

I realize it doesn't need to be plugged into the serial port to work. I'm trying to see how it's hooked up.
What do you mean by this - "RunMC their is no way to do that as far as I am aware."
I was suggesting he disconnect A/C power to the unit for one or two minutes and then try again.

Check the cable on the molex and pins are in place, and not with a cut or something like that.

If there is no 5v from the pc power supply, to the g-froster when boot up temp is reached, (0°C in your case), the phase unit will then shut down.
Test for 5vdc at the g-froster molex plug when 0°C is reached.

Hey Golden I presume its either an XE or Value but your correct it could also be 2.0.
It will be very helpful to know the exact one!

Sorry about bumping an old thread, but I am still having some issues. Last night I worked on getting everything hooked up again, and was able to get the chilly 1 to start, and run normally for 2 hours +. Today, upon turning on the chilly 1, I noticed the the Gfroster was displaying what seemed to be random characters. I turned off, and turned on the machine again, and it did the same thing. I unplugged it from the wall, and plugged it into another outlet, and now it will countdown as normal, but after reaching zero the chilly shuts down completely. To be more detailed, after it hits 0 on the countdown, I here a click from the unit, and it turns itself off. My gut says I need to do one of two things, first, try another outlet (of which I have none near) or two, update the firmware, of which I have no idea how. Any info would be great. Nothing happend to the unit between last night (when it was working) and today, all connections have been checked and double checked. Thanks for your help in advance.

It's probably not a problem with your wall outlet. It's probably an issue with the controller, but I can't pinpoint it from that information.

i had same problem, in my (and my friend's) instance, we figured it was the motherboard not accepting the signal from the controller, thus, this is what we did
we hooked up everything like normal, except instead of hooking up the power switch from the case to the controller and then to the motherboard like you're supposed to, we hooked up the case power switch to the controller, but then used another switch to power on the mobo
so, we turn on the phase unit/controller with the power switch on the case, then when it reaches the temp we want, we turn on the computer with the other switch
to use the controller software, Jinu was nice enough to send me a serial cable to hook up to the serial port on the back of the I/O panel, since our motherboards didn't have a connection on the mobo itself, i then went to Fry's and got the same components as the cable Jinu sent me, and made a copy, pretty easy actually
We're on Socket A mobo's btw, me an Abit NF7-S 2.0, and my friend uses a DFI Lanparty NF2 Ultra-B
