Im sure many of you are aware of the rather annoyance in Vista that stops you from overclocking. Flashing the bios isn't "practical" either
with the new beta nvidia drivers, I believe its the 2nd release, the 8800 series is more "tolerable" in vista now"
so this should help many

1. download atitool 0.27 beta (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/ATITool.shtml)
2. disable "USER ACCOUNT CONTROL". Vista won't load the kernal driver in ATITool with "UAC" on

To disable UAC using the Control Panel:

a. Open the Control Panel.
b. Under User Account and Family settings, click the Add or remove user account option.
c. Select a user account.
d. Click the Go to the main User Account page option.
e. Click the Change security settings option.
f. Remove the check beside the Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure option.
g. Click OK.
h. Restart the computer.

3. now that UAC is disabled, open up ATITool and overclock
4. save it as a profile, mine is appropriately named "overclock"
5. hit settings in atitool, scroll down to "startup"
6. check "everytime ATITool is launched, load profile" and then select your profile in the drag down menu
7. check "load on windows startup" and do via "registry key"
8. also check " when loaded on windows startup, exit after loading above profile..

Nice post. I tried that last week when ATiTool 0.27 beta was first out., but it didn't work out that great on Vista x64 for me. Upon reboot, ATiTool isn't able to reload the driver anymore, even with driver enforcement turned off.

I'm sure things work better when the final version release, at least for x64.
