Hi all.

I have a problem in my system that my floppy drive keep reading itself repeatedly after several minutes even though there’s no disk on it.
I’ve tried to cleared up the recent files list in case it it try to read something from there. But still no go.
Is there any thing I can try again to make the floppy won’t read again repeatedly, because its really annoying to hear that sound when it read itself continuously and it also reduce my system performance since it makes my system kinda halted when it read.

I’ve also tried to change the setting in the BIOS to not try to search for a new floppy drive, so I guess it must be a setting under the windows

As long as I notice it happened after I got me a new mobo, and try to change the SATA driver drom the floppy disk when I try to repair the Windows. Btw I use WindowsXP Pro SP2

Here’s my specs.
DFI Infinity NF4 SLI
Opteron 148@2700
2x512MB Corsair PC3200LLPT dual channel
S3 Virge/GX 2MB PCI
Seagate 120GB SATA
Antec 430w

Is there anyone can help me on this one?

Fast Find?

Some other indexing engine running in the background?

EDIT: Clear MRU list...

I do use XP SP2, but I can't find fast find on any of the drive.

and no other indexing service run in the background?

could it be my mcafee Viruscan and firewall?

I would just unplug the damn thing, do you really use your floppy drive?
