I nominate Belgium!

Haven't seen any hard core overclockers from Luxembourg in here, lol. But for now, it has to be Belgium well in the lead. :toast:

Yes, it's a country full of mad overclockers, for sure.

Not to mention some of the best in the world also.

the USA folks have much earlier/cheaper acces to hardware, that's a pity :(
but anyway, in Belgium there are quite a lot of OC'ers

too bad manufacters often forget about belgium, lotsa stuff here comes from germany/the netherlands
e.g. when the first 1700+/1800+ JIUCB's showed up here, some guy elsewhere in europe already had a JIUHB doing 2.8 or so. that sux

I'm from the U.S. but no way we have the highest ratio of overclockers (per capita, that is). That's why I nominated Belgium, although we have a ton of overclockers here over the pond.

"overclockers per capita"

Belgium is ranked pretty high imho, lots of prometeia & vapo users here =)

and we have like 30 milj. peeps only here =)

I think Sweden has a quite good ratio aswell.

sweclockers.com has over 21k members, that forum has gone lame lately thougt. Not so many "hardcore" OC'ers mostly n00bs there nowadays.

There's LOT of Belgians at Xtreme atleast.

germany too , rate of pcs per citicen is increasing incredibly fast. right now theres at least one pc in 80% of all households if not more, i personally only know 3 people without a pc...

Myself, Niko, Ragnarok, CodeRED, MCWB and Alphav7 keep up the Aussie prescense here on the forums and imo we do a pretty good job :)

We have proven the theroy that Australia gets the ยงยงยงยง ocing chips over the last few years also :p
hahahaha

I think the Europeans would be the highest per capita.....afterall, its under 25dc for 2.3 of the year ;)
hehehehe

I'd say Belgium, the Swedes, and the New Zealand folk are tops.

US has to have the most, but not per capita.

Same with Japan and Mainland Asia.

Craig

The UK has me too.

ohhh.....

I see your point :P

You defiantley see more high profile overclockers from belgum compared to there population.

There are allot of overclockers in the uK, but it seems that most of then just go for small OC's
Everybody in my UK CS clan was overclocked (maybee that was my influence lol )

Happy birthday as well Craig :D
I hope you get something that clocks nice.

Nowadays a lot of guys who knows a bit about comp has tried to oc, but very have made overclocking a true hobbie. I've a friend who tried it but only oc'ed his comp by a few MHz, nothing impressive

Hehe, there are quite a few Asians period! per capita I don't think they would win though....

japan and north europe definately win in xtreme ocing, about gerrmany... thougt about it again, there are about 85million people over here, compared to that we have a rather small ocing comunity at least REAL ocers not people who set their fsb to 140 and call them 1337 pc freaks :p we have a lot of those guys though! :D

One vote for Finland from me. 5 milj. people and many crazy overclockers. Including macci. :)
LN2 and Dry Ice are popular here. And not to forget the cold winter air. ;)

Finland, Sweden, and Belgium are my guess. Wasn't there a guy from Finland that 3DMark raced against MrIcee last year?

Must agree on Sweden and Finland.
We have quite a bit of hardcore overclockers, the reson you don't see us high up on the orb etc is because we usally get all the nice hardware late and when it comes its expencive as hell :(

Finland is up there too.... Belgium is 10 million inhabitants... thats nearly nothing. but the scandinavian countries like Norway and Finland have roughly the same population as Belgium....

so percentage wise I think its a lot compared to the US or asia

JC - I've been waiting for you to weigh in on this and figured we'd hear from you soon. You're one of Belgium's (and Xtreme's) finest.

My guess would definitely be Finland. That is if you look at the really extreme stuff.. Finland got lots of it and only about 5 million inhabitants.

If you want to see the best people at video card overclocks then Vietnam leaves everyone else in the dust.

1) They don't get the latest kit due to lack of money and international barriers.

2) They live in a hot AND humid country ( double whammy).

They still manage fantastic overclocks on their cards. When they get up to the western standard of kit you can all kiss your great scores goodbye ..

Regards

Andy

I think the Scandinavian countries, Finland and Belgium has a great overclockers/population-ratio. Denemark is the homecountry of the Vapochill and the Prometeia you know ;)

Japan and Taiwan have some very good overclockers, but its just a bit hard to communicate with them.

The few that I know dont speak good english they just send me 330fsb 875 screenys :D

But at least we build Prometeia and VapoChill. So thats go to count for something..

Speaking of Denmark - just got off the phone with Tats at xtwerkz. We talked about the Mach II's, had some questions on the new prommie.

They aren't taking pre-orders but should arrive in July as previously discussed elsewhere.

Denmark has got to be right up there. Now if the exchange rate between Denmark and the U.S. was better, I'd be better able to afford a Prometia! :D

Hey thats the way it always is....
But for some reason Prometeia is more expensive in Denmark. If I wanted to order the new Mach II I would import it back to Denmark to save myself some money.
The price here is Approx 763,-dollars US.
What are your prices btw?
