Question about headphones

Right now, I have an x-fi platinum sound card paired with the klipsch promedia ultra 5.1 speakers. I also have a pair of headphones when I want to listen/game in privacy. Would there be any discernable audio difference between plugging the headphones into the control box of the speakers and into the soundcard directly? I know it's a stretch, but would the speakers amp the headphones plugged into the control box? lol, I wish.:banana:

Plug them into the soundcard whenever possible.

I asked the same question about my DT770's with my Creative THX 5.1, at least in my case the amp is not connected to the headphone jack so you are better off plugging them into your soundcard. Or you can do what I did and mod your front panel audio port to work with your soundcard (not sure if it'll work with X-fi)
