even though it's from Tom BS Guide, it was show that some manufacturers are using pretty desperate measures

While in theory it seems like a good idea, if all reviewers know about it. There is one thing though. When you go for that max overclock, an increase of 15mghz fsb would prove to crash your sytem time and time again if you are right on the fringe. That I do not like. It really would be no help in this case as we would have to decrease our fsb by 15 mghz to leave room for this increase so our sytems remain stable. Now if they found a way to let us get that high overclock, and keep our systems stable with this "tool" than I would like it.
I just know running 285fsb 5:4 right now, this ould prove to really piss me off. Especially since they didn't tell anyone. I would end up having to clock down to 270 so as to stay stable.

15 megagigahertz? that probably would make it just a tad unstable.
"The reason why the overclocking does not show up on well-known utilities such as WCPUID, Intel Frequency Display, CPUZ and SiSoft Sandra 2003 is because these programs cannot detect dynamic overclocking."
well thats bull for a start, i know wcpuid has a realtime clock display which WOULD show any fsb or cpu increase since the speed would go up.
and yes unless they provide a way to turn it off its going to screw anyone trying to overclock anywhere within quite a few mhz of their limit.

It could be that Tom is a n00b, and he doesn't know about the real time clock display :D.

Motherboard companies have been tweaking BIOS settings for stock benchmarks for ages.
Epox ran the 8k7a at 134 default.
Any sis p4 chipset is usually set to 135.
SOme of the old VIA chipsets and the original nForce all set to 134.
I actually had a Soltek DRV5 that defaulted at 137.

thats so lame... just keep it at what its SUPOSED to be....
is it me or is the overclocking world today starting to sound like politics? like clinton and monica..........
i think were seeing a few stained dresses here.

well the thing is, at least they were all transparent for ppl to see that tru a MHz checking utility
the MSI FSB overclocking cant be detected by such programs and afaik isnt documented in the manual or able to be disabled...

ROFL Antipop.
I dont see whats wrong with this TBH, if it helps people to get better performance then why not...
Admittedly its not traditional overclocking, but its a clever Idea.
I am supprised that 3dmark didnt complain though... its allways moaning that my CPU speed has changed and wont let me publish...

certainly clever idea, but just bit suspicious how it was not documented...
might have lead to some fake impression about the board @ 'stock' speed
