K guys im goin to mod a new SLK-900u to fit on my IC7-G northbridge. I know it will fit already but will my Dremel Reinforced cutting wheels cripple when i cut the copper core on the SLK?
cutting wheels with diamond "dust" should do the trick

It should work, but will throw copper slugs everywhere and will turn the copper that you cut black.
A far better choice is a hacksaw with a good blade, or a small file.
I recommend any modder should get a set of metal files. You will be happy.

if you cut the fins too, put something between them so they dont weld and move around ;)
Depends how thick the copper is and how many cutting discs
you have.
Fastest way is with a dremel but you will find the discs don't
last that long.
As long as you only apply downward pressure and no side
pressure from twisting it should be a piece of cake but they
do wear down quick so you'll need a few you might get away
with using 2 but expect to use 3-4 depending.
Make sure you do it somewhere you can make a mess and make
sure you wear safety googles and good to have a dust mask as
well you'll be surprised how much dremel disc dust / metal
particles you can breath in.
Stick dremel on 12,000 RPM Plus and be steady handed medium
presure down and try not to twist side to side.
Cutting Heatsinks is good practice for getting used to using
Dremel Cutting Discs.
IF I can do all this with a Dremel you can certainly do a heatsink.
