Nice, mine hits 75% OC (3.5GHz) (http://fanboyreview.blogspot.com/2007/01/brag-intel-core-2-duo-e4400-is-here-and.html) on stock cooler.

There can only be a guess :D

You won't know till you try :)

lol...haven't tried fsb mod yet.
but....I don't think deafult fsb=200 or 266 will effect on fsb overclking.
of course, who know...somebody will try, since I don't have conductive ink :D

Thanks as always for the early look. Is that P5B volt modded? What is the voltage setting for the CPU in the bios? I guess no water cooling is going to keep up with >1.65 voltage. :D

Too high voltage it wants for 3600! and is a ES chip!
Some normal E6xxx chips do 3600 with 1.30-1.35V

@.@ a 100$ watercooling system can handle 1.65v~1.7v, that's not a problem.
just lots of chip cannot run such high vcore on Air due to high temp.

mobo is vmoded, about 0.15v higher than I set in bios :)
read perfect by Asus probe.

So how are these latest stepping ES chips doing? I've noticed a slight progression for the better lately.

VW, try to use i975x, Bad Axe 2 if you can with latest BIOS :). Use the bootstrap settings with the board and you might get better OC. Well, not that i975 can go higher in FSB against i965, but I have more luck with Abit AW9D-MAX/Intel D975XBX2 with E4400 than with my DS3 or P5B.

Fry's may be the only place to pick it up close to the MSRP for an OEM one with one of their combos.

pin mod actually can't help to break the FSB wall. that just my experience with E4300

really appreciate the preview VW, keep up the good work and report back when you got it running higher :p:

Very nice result !!

So a need some advise, which is better E4300 or E4400? Cause I saw some E4300 got 4.0 Ghz and high fsb.

witch chip run hotter? 4300 or 4400?

is garanteed that 4300 do 3.2GHz@1.35v?

E4400 could do 3.3GHz (10x333fsb) at 1.35v max too?

Neon Biker

1. the same
2. no, nothing is guaranteed
3. yes, (almost) anything is posible
