View Full Version : Petition to Futuremark

03-03-2007, 01:54 AM
Hi guys,

In the push to convince Futuremark to patch their benching software, an on-line petition has been created. CPU-Z's has released a new SDK for their detection engine and we would like to see Futuremark implement it in their software. I ask everyone to take a quick moment, visit the on-line petition and sign your name and forum you represent. The more voices they hear the better our chances are. Please feel free share the link and spread the word.

some People where found to be cheating and because FM does allmost nothing against it, it's good that this petition is made to show FM the OC community really is serious about cheaters.

It whould a GRATE idea for FM NOT only to block/don't accept cheated scores with a patch/update of them.....BUT to top on an online list of them, with nicknames with who tried to upload a cheated score and what date so all of the community will know who is trying to cheat and who not....:)

The cheated scores are mine, done fully under FM's knowledge. Didn't want to say anything bout it, but don't want to see other people doing stupid things like spamming the ORB with cheated scores.

I doubt it will make a difference but it couldn't hurt. I think there are alternatives that are better then just a few hundred random names on the same sheet of paper.

Hi Guys,

I posted a status report about this issue over at our own forums, but thought to re-post it here as well for you guys.

We want to thank the benchmarking community (yes, that is YOU) for all the great support and enormous willingness to get this issue sorted. Highly appreciated!

We have been working on this issue for a while now (even before the petition went online), and we are committed to address the issue. We have already made some very positive progress, but we need to do some more testing before we can say if it works or not. The counter measure will be conducted online since only results submitted to the ORB are official anyway.

If anyone has useful information about the issue, don't hesitate to contact us! All feedback and ideas to make both 3DMark and PCMark even more secure from attempts to skew results are more than welcome.

Cheers,

Nick

Heh, I did tell these guys that was progress was already being made, but it got swept up in this flood of posts.

I also want to thank you publicly for always being around to help and resolving any issue at hand very expediently.

On the record let me say, I've never had to start a petition of 300+ people to get any sort of assistance from Nick. He's always been very responsive and helpful, just to any request from lil ol' me. :p:

Perhaps all you folks can sleep a little easier now. :)
