View Full Version : Vista Reporting Higher IDLE temps?

Has anyone else noticed this? I had my idle temps between 36-39 in XP Pro. Installed Vista last night, this morning I woke up to 47c idle temps!!!! :O
System specs:
e6300 @ 3.5 w/ 1.45v
ocz ddr2 1000 5-5-5-15
P5B Deluxe
HIS X1900XTX...
Im hopin this is some fault of the OS, otherwise back to XP :(.

What are you using to monitor it? My coretemp reads the same in Vista as XP.

maybe your cores are at load in vista dued to the higher load in vista. check the task manager and other read monitors to be sure

Nope :( I've checked, there's no load in the back ground.....I've closed tried shutting down every extra feature..no luck...

Im getting 3 to 4 deg warmer with vista.I have xp and vista on dual boot to compare temperatures.

Going back to XP tomorrow, I've been running a 30 day trial of Ultimate to make sure everything works. Vista wasn't that bad, I think it was more of a "getting used to it" just like when XP first appeared. I'll wait for the first sp. My system also doesn't last a mix blend in orthos more than 15min at 2.86Ghz in vista, I could run orthos on XP all night at 3.0Ghz, maybe a fluke but I'll find out for sure tomorrow.
