Its an answer to the big air coolers out there

My E6600 is at 3.6 Ghz stable up from 3.2GHz.
I had a quiet PC; keyword ; had. In all fairness there are two new 120mm case fan added; moving 78 Cfm each.

I bought those from the stories of heat build up within the case from the supposed hotside. You could get away with using one intake and one out; 1200 rpm 120mm fans instead

Easy cable management..

I could definitely see how the Monsoon would seem like a joke to experienced TEC'ers. The air cooled TEC is the future, but still has a way to go. For example they could do a larger block for the hot side with extra pipes. Also use more efficiently the space being used up by the heatsink with more fins and cooling surfaces. A requirement is quieter fan so 120 mm with the proper cfm to cool. These mods could let the cold side of the TEC operate colder while being able to compensate for the load on the hot side which in turn would push this to early adopter enthusiast level on a mass scale.

The Scythe Mine is back on the e6600 using some of the new AS Ceramique on it and temps for the Mine dropped 10-12 degrees C and It is able to hit 3.4 again with temps close to the Monsoon II. The Monsoon cools better and is able to achieve slight 200 Mhz advantage over the Scythe Mine with this particular chip. Factor in the the noise and the extra money down on the Power bill it isn't worth it to me. This is coming from a guy who prefers 1200rpm low dba 120mm fans for quietness.

58*C idle for those volts seems way too high. I had 1.6v and idled in the mid 40's with an SI-128...

Dude, your temps seem high for both heatsinks considering your overclocks and your volts...

This is with the Scythe Mine screwed down instead of the punch clips it came with and also ceramique. It handles higher temps better than the monsoon because now there is better contact and thermal transference. The Monsoon with the e6600 at 1.675 vcore and temp would be overpowered and start working against it self . Exactly like one of the TEC experts on here said it would. It wasn't all a loss, I have reached my goal which is a stable 3.6 GHz OC with the modded Scythe Mine(78CFM Thermaltake Fan bolted with springs). It was also able to reach 3.7; its not dual prime stable. The Irony is that is why I bought the Monsoon.

Are you talking about your core temps or cpu temp? Each chip is different and the one I have needs 1.675 volts to be stable at 3.6 which causes higher temps.
