why would u need a cold plate if you could sandwhich your peltier bettween the base and the treads/weird line thingys on the waterblock? i've never tried this before and i'm curious. has anyone tryed this?

i ask of this because i want to consult the pros and can't make a cold block (due to my youngness lol)

Traditionally we work in this arrangement
CPU > IHS > Coldplate > Peltier > Waterblock
Coldplates evently disperse the heat from the CPU/IHS and act as a buffer of sorts to prevent huge temperature swings. You don't even have to cut up any metal to make a coldplate, back when I was doing watercooling and peltiers I simply ordered the pieces cut to size from onlinemetals.com
