I have been looking for a new game to pass the time with and haven't had much luck finding what I want. I'm looking for an RPG in a sci-fi setting. It can be online or offline that doesn't matter. The only game I have really heard of that is sci-fi is Eve online and I tried that and it really wasn't what I was looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

I have been playing Star Wars Galaxies for just over 3 weeks and I love it. Come on, I am in training as a Dark Jedi and an Imperial Navy fighter pilot. What more could you want? I would suggest you have a look at it.

I didn't even think of Star Wars Galaxies. I'll try that one. Thanks :)

Mechwarrior. Once you immerse yourself in the universe you will never get out.
Read the novels, play the table top game, play the PC games.
Battletech and Mechwarrior. The BEST SCI-FI RPG.

What about anarchy online? That was pretty good when I last played it and has a fantastic community. They do loads of offers if you sign up to the newsletter. For example the basic game is free but you normally have to pay to get the expansions which also requires a subscription, however I got the expansions completely free though their offers and only had to pay the modest subscription.
I think they are planning an overhaul of the graphics although its been a while since I played it and those were only rumours at the time.

Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic I/II - older but strongly recommended ;)

Eve Online, if you'd like to try your luck as a sci-fi venture-capitalist...
Best Regards :toast:

Ok, I gave up on Star Wars Galaxies. Too many bugs, not good enough support from Sony. They can jam their game up their clacker. :D

I agree, SW KOTOR 1/2 are very good.
Also, prices are low, considering the game has a few years since release:

Can we call Deus Ex an RPG?
The game is great, but it's more an fps than anything else.

Compared to toher games being released at the time - Quake, Unreal, Half-life, soldier of fortune, Thief, Deus Ex is surely an rpg (http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=01E&q=%22deus+ex+is+an+rpg%22&btnG=Search)
