Hi guys, i know there is alot of this related stuff on google but i'm very confused...
What i have:
*LG DA-3530 Home theatre CD/DVD system, about 5 years old. DVD laser, or spindle motor is defective, not going to bother getting it repaired (have a Samsung R135 now). So now i got this thing sitting in storage doing nothing (and I'd like to get rid of my X-230 speakers).
*Dfi NF4 board with karajan audio. (yes i know most purists would say i need to get rid of onboard, but i'd rather test it out on this first)
What i want to do:
Connect the 6 channel system to the PC. The speakers/sub use to be on a simple wire with negative and positive leads. A while ago, i soldered RCA jacks to them.
As far as i can see all i need for analog, is 2 RCA Y'd to a single stereo mini jack (3 of these to connect Front left/right + Rear left/right + centre/subwoofer). But how would volume control/amplification work? How can I use the DVD player as a receiver/amplifier??? This is what really confuses me as every guide out there uses a volume controller or receiver and I really don't have the money for a $300 addition.
