Couple ?'s
I have just built a Mach 1. Temps on my Abit NF7-S show 9 deg. I am sure the Micro freezer is making good contac. I took it apart to make sure. What should it show? Does it really matter?
When I shut down the system, It reboots. will not quit.
Thank you
Sam

Sam,
Dont worry about the NF7-S temp readings they do not reflect your core temp. The reading is taken from a thermister in the CPU socket and always reads high (on phase change). Mine reads about the same.
The best way to ensure good contact is to use the evap temps as your guide. If the temps rise more than a few degrees when the CPU is under load, then contact should be good.
Have you tried to shutdown when you are in the BIOS by pressing the power button? It could be a windows thing which has screwed up your ACPI settings.
Alternatively have you wired the proms 2pin power switch correctly to your mobo. I once got the prom power and reset wires mixed up and got some very unusual behaviour :p
Welcome to Xtreme Sam !:toast:
I don't know about the temps, as I don't have a prommy yet............. someone with more knowledge will be by to help ya there I'd think.
As far as the reboot issue.........
Are you using a PCI vcard? The agp is screwing with ya....
Edit: I didn't delete the drivers for the Vcard, I went into system ( device manager) and DISABLED the agp-pci bridge........ that did it.
LUK how ya make out.

Thanks for the response. I reset the mb wires from the case updated the bios to 1.4 and now it works. Temp are more accurate.
