Nice find, looks good.

Shipping seems a little high but I could live with UPS ground.

well to make a nice chiller all you will need is some capillary tubing, some copper tubing, and a igloo cooler or something simerlar to hose the chiller coolant.put a pump in the center and you have a -20c chiller that will handle alot of heat

Where would I buy the tubings at? Website? Store? And also could I use a resevoir instead of a igloo cooler? Im trying to keep it a little more compact and portable so I dont want to use a big oll ice chest. Thanks

well copper tubing can be purchased at any home depo, lowes, etc.the only thing had to find will be the cap tubing.

it can be found www.rparts.com (http://www.rparts.com/index.asp)

Another question:

Is there always an possibility to attach a capillary tube to such a compressor?
Or where can I find a guide/tutorial/map/scheme to make phase-change cooling by your own?

/edit: already found on phase-change.com
sorry to bother

i was gonna get that unit. but my moms bf has a hookup at an A/C store, and those units are 280.00 brand new. he can leave the store with one for 150 or so.

Also its a 1/4HP model. So its a good unit. id perfer a 1/2hp, cuz im crazy. But it would cool many heat soruces.

im not sure if you bought it or not. But i cant be mad at ya for getting that unit. i stopped it on ebay when he listed it. if you can egt it under 150 shipped its for sure worth it. hes sold 3 of them in the last month, the first one sold for about 130shipped, which was a deal.

Only part im gonna have a problem with on the chiller, is that the price or a chiller+water blocks and tube etc.. will be costly.. so thats the only prob i face to getting my unit. hell the water pump, and parts will total as much as the chiller unit itself most likly.

Ok I got that unit from Ebay. Now I need copper tubing, capillary tubing, a pump and a container for the coolant right? One thing though I cant find capillary tubing in the rparts.com website???? I looked many times and I just dont seem to be able to find it. Also what is a good pump to buy? Relatively good priced but then I saved a lot on the chiller so I can spend some money on a good pump, but which should I buy? And lastly, what else can I use for the container other than an igloo cooler? I dont want a big ole ice chest sitting there. I want to keep it more compact so I can build a case around it and keep it clean. Oh yea and what blocks should I buy if I dont make my own?Cpu?graphics?chipset? Thanks guys

If you use a step-down transformer, will it affect the performance??

I have never personally used such a device.i guess as long as the compressor recieved 110v to 115v it would work fine.

id look local for the cap tubeing.
pump id get 300gph if your just doing the cpu up to 400gph if your gonna do the cpu/nb/gpu.
Blocks.. id get them ALL copper and as big as possible or ones easy to condestate proof.
and any big thick bucket will do for a res, but it'll ice up if not covered.
