I have a samsung 244t 24'' 1920x1200 monitor. Nvidia control pannel allows for custom monitor timmings and i'm wondering if the vertical refresh can be pushed.

That's a free standing question right there but a followup question, which i intened to answer by experimenting (no matter how obvious the answer may be), If I use a dual link cable with my monitor and 8800GTX, will that help with the refresh overclock?

single link:
HDTV (1920 × 1080) @ 60 Hz with 5% LCD blanking (131 MHz)
dual link:
HDTV (1920 × 1080) @ 85 Hz with GTF blanking (2×126 MHz)

so clearly if a 1920x1200 monitor supported DL then it would have some head room, transmission wise, to be pushed. Whether or not the particular hardware could be pushed in terms of vertical/horizontal/pixel clock is of course another matter... which is the subject of this post.

If you think this idea is rediculous please keep your comments to your self, i'm mearly interested in the idea of upping my display's refresh and want to know if it has been done and if a dual link cable in this situation would benefit the effort.

thanks.

Why bother? What does it gain you?

Waste of time IMO.

If I've understood it right, he wants 100Hz or nearly, and it's clearly preferable.
