Here is a photo of the graphic card mounted on the P5B Dlx

http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/8800GTS3200_MontadaNaP5Bdlx.jpg

As you can see the card is very compact

Also is virtually noiseless with fan on Auto, very important factor for 24/7 setup

Setup used:
- EVGA EVGA 8800GTS 320MB
- Asus P5B Deluxe
- QX6700 Retail
- TuniqTower120
- 2x1GB TeamGroup 5300
- Seasonic 600w

Here is the info given by RivaTuner and Everest:

http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/8800GTS3200_InformationStock.jpg

The overclocking capabilities of this EVGA's 8800GTS 320MB are quite amazing, here is what I get 100% stock, I did not even put an additional fan on the top of it.

- Core Clock: 520MHz (standard) -> 670MHz (overclocked)
- Memory Clock: 1600MHz (standard) -> 2048MHz (overclocked)

The card should overclock even more, but this was just a quick test..

Well, let's cut the crap and go to 3DMark :D

Near a 20K for a 300Euros card quite amazing - and this with 24/7 Air cooled setup

:eek: More than 12K amazing, in fact I expected quite less..

Well not bad for a 300 Euro graphic card in a 24/7 Setup :)

Next steps: I'm really with little time available, for professional reasons, but in the next days I will try to:
- Try to find the max overclock with stock cooler
- Run my favourite bench (2001 of course) with the CPU on the mini-cascade;

hehe you do say near 20k for that price but not everyone has the QX6700. I cant run mine safely above 3.7GHz on water due to high ambient temps.
you are getting very low temps on the CPU, are your ambients 10C or something? :p:

but yeah awesome clocks, my 8800gtx cant do that core speed with stock air(only 625-630MHz). btw did you try running again with the memory lowered to 975?
I found it faster than at 1020MHz on this GTX.

you are getting very low temps on the CPU, are your ambients 10C .

Asus PCProbe does not read the CPU's accurately, if you look on the 2 pic you see that CoreTemp reads around 50ºC

This QX6700 can run 4 SuperPI's at 4Ghz Air Cooled with around 1.6v on core

This is good to see Pedro, Think this card may be a great choice for those who wanna bench 8800 but don't want to risk breaking a £350 card by modding it. Glad to see it's scaling well, think you've got quite a good card there tho, we'll see what the average results are like :D

GTX......

The GTS already got 96 shader engine instead of 128 and the engines already running @ clocks lower than the GTX so theoretically any GTS should OC better than the GTX

ALWAYS depends on chip......I've seen some others doing 675MHz core on GTXs too.....:(

hehe you do say near 20k for that price but not everyone has the QX6700.

Yeah, kinda misleading really. Any chance you could re-run with an E63 or E66? That way we get a better idea. Not everyone has a cpu that scores 6k in '06. I mean your 12k in '06 is a 5500 CPU score & a 6770 3D score.

Pedro got E6600 :D , are you kidding he already considered this card as low end card and test it on air and Inexpensive D9s , he didn’t use 5GHZ Cascade cooled X6800

And those 05 results achievable with Conroe considering the 3D mark 05 doesn’t take full advantage off quad core

In my signature all results are received on full stock cooling, without use of additional means of cooling 500-> 675 MHz

Wrong, I don't have any E6660 now, only QX6700 and X6800, for low end CPU's results you guys have to look elsewhere, lot of reviews availabe here and all around web.

This was just to demonstrate the OC potential of this card at stock level, and Hipro5 is, as allways, correct this EVGA's 8800GTS 320 MB have an amazing OC potential.

You are right kemo6600, for 3Dmark 05 QuadCore does not make much diference, in 06 does make a diference of course ;)

I may not even run this one with X6800 at Mini-Cascade - I don't have time and patience do reviews anymore.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I ain't knockin' the guy. He's done a good job. It's just we need to see what these baby's can do when run with an "average joe" C2D or AMD. There's a lot of guys here gonna be very interested in these little beautys but they ain't runnin' QX's. Besides...full advantage of quad-cores? It scores 5500 for heavens sake :p:

Like I say, these cards look great and I'm glad they're available now as many more users will have access to G80. Then we can get back to the important stuff like benching :D

Did you read my post?

This is NOT a "average joe" review !

For reviews you have o look in the other sections of XS or better elsewhere in the web! This is XS, not Tom's Hardware or [H] :D

Pedro, I've been testing the exact same graphics card and managed to get GPU: 665 MHz and memory 1065 MHz (default cooling, normal room temperature). Try if you can push memory clocks little bit further :)

Awesome results there, especially on the mem clocks! It reads 50'c on the QX, mind if I ask what the ambients were? That seems pretty cool for those kind of clocks to me...
