just putting out a heads up for anyone that might want to play fear combat tonight

right now, its just myself and vapor that are playing

we're probably going to have to find a server somewhere to play, i think i have a good idea, but we'll find out for sure on that later.

i might try to setup some kind of teamspeak or something, but not sure on that, need to make a run to get a headset anyways.

as in the time i want to play, dont know for sure, 9pm CST would be good for me, that would give me plenty of time to eat as well as get the headset

hmm, we did it last night, but i guess no harm in playing 2 nights in a row :), i dont know what server yet, just depends on what is open at the time.

probably going to be a CTF server though, either CTF,control, or conquer all, those are my favorites. since there is actually a point to the game other than just shooting people.

i have a good idea of a server to join, everyone like custom maps? ;)

I have a spare machine, its a nice average spec (2.8GHZ 3700, 1.5GB ram 7600GT XT), with a solid 8meg connection:)

288k upstream i believe, I also know that FEAR Combats Server client is the same as GTR2's, which doesn't need a great upstream, just relys on the players single connection. :) as all loads are the players positions, no maps or any of that:)

nope, you are going to need a lot more upstream than that. 288 up will only get you about 5-6 players at most with good pings(<100ms). I have an 8mb/768kb here, but just dont have a spare machine that is fast enough sitting around to run it on

ive hosted games myself before, non dedicated server, with 8 players (and thats 3 of us in the same network) and it started to get a little crazy for all of the internet players.

i play fear combat often. but beware: 104 kills in deathmatch. i play under i4memory (symbolizes my geekhood).

pretty good, but then again, that looks like a TDM scoresheet to me. and its much easier to score huge when your team is halfway decent and the other team isn't.

if you tell me that 90%+ were with any kind of gun and not a grenade ill be a lot more impressed. People that do kamikaze runs really get on my nerves

i use the remote grenades, rarely the n6a3. remote grenades i can detonate once they get close enough. n6a3 is too slow unless there are bunch of guys camping a post.
in streets, facility; i use rpl smg. in depot and spillkil and the rest, i use the usual assault rifle. sometimes when rpl is too slow (eg lack of ammo quickly), ill use pistols.
ill go on kamikaze runs with a rpl and mow down.

yeah i played at DSW squad, was wondering where that server went...
fireinstyle is laggy.
i also play at deadwood asshatery.

we gotta get together and play some 1 on 1 like office :D

you can usually find me in one of the NAEA CTF servers, think they just did a name change, maybe NAEA gaming or something like that. my best on the game was about 70+ kills and only around 35-40 deaths on CTF. and 90% of those with g2a2. i dont use grenades unless someone is under water, or i can hear someone coming around a corner.

i might go play in naea tonight, probably in an hour or so
