Battlefield Vietnam, its freaking dope. Best shooter I've ever played, my first in fact, it's what really got me into FPS's.

Anything you want to do, it's paced slow enough or fast enough to execute.

Example, you want to go rambo into an enemy base, you can do that. But if you want to go camp in some thick brush on a hillside with a sniper rifle, you can do that to and just take out enemy soldiers from far away.

It's an awesome game just try it.

Heres a few games that i play when im bored or in need of a FPS fix.:D

Out now

CSS ( counterstrike source ) = Still one of the best FP shooters ever made & you get it free with HL2 ( the daddy ).

BF2+all addons ( BF2:SF, BF2:EF, BF2:AF ) = Hours of pwning noobs !

I would use this space for BF2142,
but the games sucks ass so im leaving it out.

R6 Vegas = system killer lol ( killed my system but was fun to play)

Next Gen

CRYSIS = The best FPS ever made !
( visual is outta this world, add dx10 and your on mars lol )

GRAW2 = Lookin verry sweet aswell, the explosions look real :slobber:
( comes out march 07 not long now )

Yeah its pretty screwed up right now. I am tempted to stop playing it because of the bugs. I even had to use a cheat at some point to get an item which for some reason disappeared from my game.

Not to mention if you are going to give a trader money and you have traded with them before, it ends up giving them all the money you have gotten from them by trading and the money you are supposed to give them for a quest.

Then I had to go back and beat em up and take all the money I had given them :/

Excuse my ignorance, what is the difference between BF2 and BF2142, or are these the same thing?

I agree w/ CS:S; get online and blast someone/everyone, it makes me happy; if you really want to tune out, try a Deathmatch.

Rainbow 6 Vegas but you best have a bare minimum of a 7800 GTX and a Conroe thats overclocked.
that game is a total graphics hog. but it looks damn good while its doing it.

i am still 100% loving TOCA 2 (but it doesnt truly come to life until you use a good steering wheel, i suggest finding yourself a Logitech Momo wheel), so check that out, Flatout 1 or 2, hhmm what else,,,

go buy a 360 and enjoy more lol.

If you're looking for a good racing game I recommend you Flatout2 - I mean this game is Extreme, real Extreme - you got Psychics, Damage a good A.I. and High Quality graphics, plus it's the best game when it comes to optimizations, at least in my opinion.

This game runs great with high details on a ATi X1600XT, AMD62 2800+ (ClawHammer) and 512 DDR - should run great on that, I told you it's SUPER OPTIMIZED. :p:

Yes Flatout2 at LANs is great... but no-one can beat me with my steering wheel... it's boring when people are trying driving games w/o wheel :P

I used to have a force feedback wheel kit... kinda wish i still had it,,,, they are fun as hell and that game looks pretty good

If you are looking for a different style of gameplay try:

Vampire: Bloodlines

It's a mix of rpg and FPS, with plenty of melee combat and an actually interesting storyline/characters, not like the contrived BS most FPSers have.

Dawn of War GOLD 29.99 for B to A rated game.

Don't recommend R6Vegas unless you have a lot of patience since it is quite flawed and buggy. There is also severe question as to whether Ubisoft will continue to support it as they have been MIA on the forums for a while now. Coop is fun with friends though.

BF2 is still good. Special Forces stunk in my opinion and wasn't worth the 30 bucks I spent on it when it first came out. Didn't like most of the maps and the night maps are terrible as the game's NightVision is nasty.

PREY is probably one of the best well written games I have ever played! I have all of the best games and as I said its propbably the best written FPS from start to finish in the top 10. The next game I would recomend is PAIN KILLER Gold from Steam that is a bad ass game! Dark Messiah Might & Magic is another one of the best games I own been thinking about picking up Rainbow 6 Vegas but how buggy is it? Bad as BattleField II because if its like that I wont even install that game on any system I own! Speaking of BattleField II who wants it? Free of Charge just pay the shipping.

R6 Vegas is VERY buggy...especially the Multiplayer. Glad I only payed 30 bucks for it. the xbox version is better, while the PC version there is question whether UBI will continue to support it or not. The communtiy was to have an answer a month ago...and still nothing.

Day of Defeat: Source. You can't win by wiping out the entire opposing team. You actually have to capture flags or destroy/defend objectives, and that's close to impossible without teamwork.

As you can see I have two wheels there. Get a DFP (driving force pro) if you want to avoid hassles. Also the pedals in that pic are DFP pedals, similar to MOMO(mine are in the bin at the moment), but different internals. Let me tell you what problems I had with momo which mostly develop after a while:

- Loses center after a few laps, therefore to go straight you find yourself steering a bit to the left (or right).
- When making a quick correction, you will lose the centre of the wheel. This happened in some league races, and I had to pull over or find an opportunity to do a full lock to full lock (re-calibrates it)

- The pots in the pedals of the MOMO are plastic and since early days I had to open it up and thicken the shafts to reduce play. On and off it would still have a "auto brake" where it kept 3% brake when full released (so sometimes I'd find myself going so slow down the straight).
- The most common problem was throttle with it, it would spike at times and not go to full 100% throttle, in conjunction with 3% brake it's annoying. I remember one time i pulled out of a good draft ready to overtake in turn 1, then i got stuck at 310km/h instead of about 340km/h. It spun me on the exit (it spikes to 100% at the slightest touch to recalibrate)

Solution: Just get a DFP, way more enjoyable, more buttons (thank god). The only problem with DFP might be the shifter paddles. At first they were really small and not as nice feel as the MOMO, but it can be solved with some mods or just get used to it.

I play Day of Defeat Source all the time. Hooked on it. Been playing for about a year and a half now. Adding to what YugenM said, some servers do have time limits on maps. Depends on which one you go to. I think I have seen spudnik playing before, if you guys come across "Pong" , give him a hollar :P

X-Fire please? The only friend at my school who played that game moved onto MacVille and has since then stopped playing PC games, so I need someone to play with ;)

Might try Call of Duty 2 if you want a game like Day of Defeat...my friends seem to like it more. It's another WW2 shooter and has both single and multiplayer.

Stealth is new and supposed to be pretty good. Fear is not as new, but it's fun; the multiplayer for Fear is also free (if you want to play single player, you need to buy the game).

Older, but still fun: UT2k4, Quake 4, CS, Far Cry, any of the Splinter Cell games. CS is the only game that doesn't have single player (but if you want single player, you can get Condition Zero)

that is the whole point, even though this game id demo it's a big disappointment, or turd.

It's very unresponsive, the brakes feel so artificial and easy (how can you slow down from 120 to 25 in a few car lengths just standing on the brake? you should perhaps lock a wheel and increase your brake distance). The organics/crash physics are great, other aspects are a boo boo.

Another thing i tested was.. let the car run straight, then just chop the wheel left/right. It was literally a second or two till the game onscreen attempted to turn or change direction. The game is a deadzone? lol

Keep enjoying RBR, and previous CMR. This new one is crap unless they listen to community and fix it in release.
