hello everyone. i built a pc over here in baghdad (yeah im a POAG medic working in a combat support hospital :p:) to tide me over until i get home.

anyway before i even start with my issues ill give you the spec's
AMD Athlon 64 3000 Venice E6 (cant remember the stepping)
AC Freezer Pro 64
1gb (1x1024) Corsair VS DDR400
Biostar T-Force 6100
eVGA 7600GT
80GB Sata 3.0 gb/s
Antec 430w True Power II
XP Home

ok heres my issue. no matter what i do i cant seem to get my motherboard to get past 260mhz htt. i lowered the htt multi from 4x to 3x and put my ram on a pretty heavy divider because its cheap stuff and doesnt oc well and dropped my cpu multi. (again to find max htt for motherboard) i know this board can do more but i cant seem to break her to my will :slapass: in the meantime i have it running at 260x10 = 2600mhz @ 1.55v DDR410. not bad but again i think it can do more.

any and all advice is welcome :)

/sigh i cant wait to get home to my opteron 165 ccbbe 0610 dpmw.... :hump:

whats the voltage on your chipset. You might want to try raising that and see if it helps.

its 1.15 and i cant find any option to change it :(

yes the TForce 6100 M9 (s.939) has a FSB wall over 300
i've tried more than 5 boards (all are TF6100 M9) and it stucked at 300-310ish
no matter how high the vcore we sets, and yes it'e true that there's no vchipset option in BIOS
i think it's the worst T-series mobo i've ever tried
TF6100 M7 is great can do more than 400FSB
TF6100 AM2 is good too can do 360ish
TF550 just as good as the AM2
TF965PT/Dlx is the hell of king with it's prices (FSB 500 is easy)
TF570 is good as always ;), too bad the mem divider is stuck at stock

Post a screenshot link of your DT with this utility running so we can see what the default bios settings are. http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/A64Info.rar

The S754 version can do over 400mhz easily. I had 2 boards and they were both able to hit that speed.
I am not at home right now and its been a while since I have been playing around with that rig.
From my testing, the board is very picky when it comes to different ram brands.

Now what you have to do to get a high FSB is the following:
Lower the HTT multi to 1x for testing. You have to do that in the overclocking menue and in a different menue I forgot the name. The options are called nb to sb speed or something similar.
Then only use a single stick of ram in the slot close to the cpu socket. Think its called dimm0. You can use a second stick later, but for testing the max fsb one stick gives you better results.

Now the most important setting on this board is hidden in the advanced memory menue in the oc menue.
Its grayed out by default. What you have to change is read preamble and max latency. From my testing I figured out that 7.5ns/9ns were the best settings. But I cant remember what was what, but you will see that by opening the slider. The 7.5ns one only has a max setting of like 10ns and the 9ns ons max is above 12ns.
Sorry I forgot the exact names, its been over a year ago when I messed around with it.

The memory setting is the most important thing you have to do.

And I replaced the tim on NB and SB with AS5 before I first used the board, which might help aswell.

Rebels Haven has some mod BIOS for your board. Try Google...

Trust me, you dont need a mod bios.
My NB voltage is only 1.12V and I can run 400mhz fsb with it.

Just try the memory settings I told you above. If you have trouble to find what I was refering to, tell me and I will look into the exact names for them.

Try a lower multi for the cpu aswell to make sure its not the cpu holfing you back. And in case you didnt notice, that board undervolts quite a bit.

sorry its been a couple of days since i posted but its been busy over here.

anyway i tried everything that was suggested and it still wouldnt boot past 260 >.< lowered the HTT NB>SB, SB>NB LDT multi's to one x and put the cpu on its lowest multi. all to no avail. im thinking the motherboard isnt playing nice with the corsair value select DDR400

Did you lower max latency and read preamble aswell? Those are the most important settings to reach a high FSB on that board.

yeah, i set them to 7.5 and 9 like you said. try loosening em up a bit more?

hmm thats odd. That trick worked for every memory stick I used. Sure you can try losening those timings more, but those values I posted were the ones that worked for me best, but I coudnt change the multi on my sempron, so it was maxed out at 401*8.
