<Spoiler ahead, if you haven't beaten the game and don't want the near-ending given away, don't scroll down>
Alright, so I'm near the end of the main quest, trying to get Martin Septim to the Temple of The One to light the Dragonfires, etc. Well no matter how fast I move, once I'm past Mehrunes Dagon, Martin ALWAYS dies, and I get the "Martin has been slain, all hope is now lost" message. Any tips for this? Daedra keep pouring out of nowhere and swamping me, and the Storm Atronauchs and Xivalis are real pains in the ass.
I'm to the point where I'd just as soon use a console command to teleport Martin and me to the Temple and circumvent all this needless ass puttering around the Imperial City Temple District with daedra kicking my ass, or maybe a command to Toggle God Mode for Martin as well.
Any ideas?

its hard but not impossible.
the hard part is that so many bad guys come for you.
i had a few summon scrolles and summon spells and cast them to get help. the monsters u summon dont have ot be uber strong but they will keep a few of the attacking enemys busy. When the mobs r busy with either ur summoned mob or martin simply do a hvy attack on their backs a few times and theyl die.
u dont have ot kill all the monsters u just have ot make shure martin can keep going on.
Another hint might be to pick up the spell convelescense... or something spelled similar like... anyways, its ranged healing for others.
I had to use that through that at one time. Helped a quite a bit.

lol the whole last part for a blur for me. Was a vampire mage with like 140 in destruction. Had a custom touch spell that did 2.5k dmg over 5 seconds that I could do twice per all my mana. So I was pretty much running in front instagibbing everything that moved the whole time.

I got bored and finished the last two parts of the main quest in about 1/2 hour. For the part your talking about, I just got inside and ran my butt off to where I needed to go and that was it. I was like, "well that wasn't too hard". I'm sure if I stopped I woulda been ganked by tons of baddies, lol. I then deleted the saves for those parts to go at a slower pace next time. I just added some Knights of the Nine expansion pack parts to mess around with first.

lol first time i tried it i kept looting the dead guards to complete my armor collection.
and they kept saying: protect Martin etc. (like in the movie the longest day: hold until relieved)
and i kept thinking hes a grown boy he can take care of himself.

Well all I did was just ran to the temple ignoring all the baddies and eventually Martin would follow and not actually died that time, took quite a few tries but it was fun as hell... excellent game

I summoned some Skeleton Champions and Gloom Wraiths and that kept the damned Storm Atronauchs, Xivali, Spider Daedra, Daedroths, and those damn Daedric Valkyries occupied. I know Gloom Wraiths use mainly alchemy-based attacks which the Storm Atronauchs resist (electricity and frost, anyway), but the Skeleton Champions kept them at bay long enough.
