I was wondering if anyone has had their hands on one of these and can tell me if they are the same dimensions as a typical Antec ( or other brand) 400-600 watt PSU? I was told by ocz tech support that they were a compact 1kw unit and wanted to be sure since I plan to put it into my Lian Li V1100 case and the compartment for the psu is designed for the standard sized units.

thankies

I do not have the unit yet, but they are the same size as our Powerstreams used to be.

Slightly longer than a Standard ATX PSU (longer than GameXstream) but they are shorter than the EVOStream Modular PSU's.

They fit most Mid Tower ATX cases and larger.

I will send an email now to the office for dimensions...but they won't open for another 2.5 hours yet :)

Thanks

Thx Ryder!

Your post is making me a little nervous tho, these Lian Li cases don't have really anymore length in the psu compartment. I was hoping that the absence of cable managment would make it work. I ordered one already and hoping it works...I like my case!

Ok, in response to my own question ( no worries guys, I'm medicated for this condition ;) ) I recieved my psu ( and lots of other toys!) from N'eggs a lil while ago and for those that want to know, the 1000w PSU that OCZ sells ( Pro Xtreme) is the same dimensions as a standard 480w Antec.

It will fit nicely in my Lian Li V1100 case

I have the 1000W installed here, it dosen't appear to be longer at all then my previous 850W GameXtreme....however, the 80mm fan runs at FULL speed 24/7...and it's like a TORNADO!

Loudest fan in my case, masks all my other fans...and i have 8 fans...seven 80mm and one 120mm. It reminds me of those Vantec Tornado fans.

There is also a real quirk and missing item...no power switch!, no on/off power switch on the PSU?

Surely this is standard, and essential i might add...any serious gamer/builder appreciates the need for a power switch. Rails seems very stable, the cable sleeving and connectors are excellent. The 8pin PS 12V is much better then the 4x+4x connectors on the 600/700/850W models. Quad SLI ready...as i say the only real downside i can see is the very loud fan and lack of a power switch.

Be nice if the enclosed 80mm fan was blue LED like the GameXtremes.

:(

You sorted it all without me.

Anyway..for posterity:

That's going to be 6 x 5.5 x 3.5 (L x W x H) Measurements in Inches.
From an aerial view, it's about 8 inches one corner diagonal to the other.

In regards to the power switch....No room, the internals are packed :)

Same goes for the 80mm fan.....if there would have been room for 120mm...it would have been there.

Yea I sigh'd when I saw that. It's not good to have to yank the power cord out of the back everytime you want to disconnect the power to the system. Or buy one of those power panels to gain a rocker switch.

The other nice option or feature I would have like to see is a cable plug on the back like my Antec's had...great for external water cooling set ups and temp devices you need to power up ( like those useless 3.5 floppy drives for scsi drivers on new OS installs)

And yea an LED fan would also ease the discomfort of the shell shock prices we pay for stuff.

I hope this PSU doesn't let me down.
