I've been getting VERY mixed ideas from people over @ the hardforum VS xtremesystems about switching to watercooling. Here is my situation, and my goal for switching to watercooling:
My cpu needs 1.53V to get to 3.8GHz, however using my scythe infinty with those Volts causes nearly 68/69c loaded temps using orthos. Im really not happy with those temps so I thought going to watercooling SHOULD help me here. This setup will be cooling the CPU ONLY! Here is the list of items I have the money to buy right now:
Swiftech MCR320 Radiator
Swiftech Apogee GT water block
Laing D5/Danger Den D5 Inline 12vDC Pump
Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Hi-Flo Reservoir
1/2" ID (3/4" OD) Masterkleer General Purpose Clear PVC Tubing
120mm Yate Loon D12SM-12 Case Fan - Black (70.5 CFM, 33 dBA) 3 of these
And hose clamps of course....
My goal of converting to H20 cooling is to be HOPEFULLY only in the high 40's for load temps, but @ 1.5+ Vcore if my load temps go to 50-55c I guess thats OK aswell. People over @ the hardforums say the difference will be minimal at best:( . IF this is true I'm not going to throw money into this setup. You guys here @ XS (which I trust more BTW) say Im heading in the right direction. I just want more opinions on this, to make me feel better about throwing 250 dollars into this type of cooling setup will benefit my overclock. Can some on guess what might be my idle temps and load temps with this 3 120mm rad, apogee GT block, and feeding the CPU 1.5000Vcore? Thanks everyone
