Looking at the underside of the water block we can see where this water block separates itself from many of the others on the market today. Instead of using a single piece of machined copper for the base this water block has 42 silver ‘rods’ that have been inserted through the base. Each silver rod has direct contact with water flow and the processor that is being cooled. Why do this? If I remember my numbers from college right, silver conducts heat ~7% better than copper. This means improved cooling as the heat will be transfered from the IHS to the rods faster. For those interested in fittings rumor has it that it will come with standard 1/2-inch or 3/8-inch barbs. If the OCZ SilverArray performs along the lines of the Swiftech Storm it might be a great block if OCZ can get the price down and mass produce them. It will also be interesting to see if OCZ develops there own water kit sometime in the near future. With water cooled memory modules and CPU blocks it seems like OCZ is well on their way to making a water kit of their own. Could we see Corsair and OCZ butt heads in the water cooling market in 2007? Only time will tell, but competition is good!
Hop it will come true .

/me shakes his head and wonders why bother to make this?
14 screws holding the lid on? Thats 10 more than required. Are we suposed to crank it up to 150 PSI?

what kinda corrosion issues are involved with copper/silver mixes?

No direct center feed, just flow over, shown in AM2 format which is now dead to Conroe kicking ass, nasty barbs on there.
It's been on there new section for a bit

I know I shouldn't judge a waterblock by looks, but to me it doesn't look like a champ really. Only time will tell, but my prediction is that you current Storm/Appogee GT/FuZion will stay in the lead.

yep, doubt you get a high performance block w/ SILVER for 30 or even under $50..

looks like a waterblock made by innovatek tbh.
i know a waterblock with a base completely out fo silver wich costs 150 euro.
This one only has silver rods but puttin them in the base also ups the cost as its more work.
so 90 euro and up in price?

Well even if they could manage to make it not too expensive, I don't think it will perform that well... my bet is on Fuzion and Storm, not this thing... lol it looks simpler than Plywood99s diy block:D

I'm sticking with a low price.
And no silver is not that expensive. Copper has risen in price and in comparison I don't think the two are that far apart. I might look later if I'm not too lazy.
This isn't a high performance WB. It's a WB thtat is intended to look cool and perform decently. It won't compete with the fusion or Apogee gt.
And guys wtf is wrong with your memory? RyderOCZ has mentioned this will be a budget block. So no your wrong.

I am assuming that you mean for just the silver alone

Danger Den made a few at one time, however they're only a few C better than comprable copper blocks, and cost considerably more. Not all blocks made from silver perform well.

$45-55ish
14 screws is for bling a bit, but it also increases reliability since there will be no excess concave/convex pressure applied to the top by the o-ring and thus no cracking (easily).
Want a center inlet? Put it in yourself! ;)
I'm interested to see how it performs. Might not be the king, but it'll be fine.

lol, I think this will be priced like this:
$55 = cost of making it (says OCZ :p: )
+ $15 = OCZ branding
+ $20 = for whatever BS reason
+ $20 = approximately ~20% sales margin
--------
$110 = Price for consumers w/o price gouging

if it goes over $60 I'll cower and hide in a corner. and no $110 is ridicoulous.

No offense Ryder ;)
I'm just joking around :D
But if this thing does perform as well or better
than STORM, there are plenty of people willing to
pay that much
But the contact surface kinda looks small, especially
with dual-cores dominating the market, and quad-core
on their way, wouldn't the surface be enlarged a bit
before it is released?
Or does it just look small? :p:

Hey, whitewater is better than thermaltake and costs less:D Interesting fact: thermaltake's aquabay m3 thing actually performs better than a BIP:D:P but well it costs 40 dollars...
