Hi, I am building a new computer and I wonder what motherboard and memory to pick. The processor and graphicscard I am looking at is; INTEL CORE 2 DUO E4300 1.8GHZ and a Gainward Geforce 8800 GTS. What would be a good match for those two? I am planning to overclock some.
Atm I got about 400 € to spend on a mobo and some RAM. I would like 2x1 GB since it's mainly going to be used for gaming.

The budget of 400 € doesnt leave you much for 2 gig of ram and a descent motherboard. I would recommend a 680 based chipset for the 8800 GTX SO if you decide later to add another 8800 then you would have no problem enabling SLI.
RAM Very good and overclocks well

Cheapest GOOD 680 based board

This still takes you over your budget BUT i would really recommend a GOOD Motherboard for stability

ok, but what if we say 200€ for mobo + 300 € RAM, do we get anything a bit more OC:able? (Im not the one buying the pc, posting for a friend..)

Nope no SLi planned, just looking for a good mobo for some OC'ing.
