View Full Version : Anyone have an idea on the OC performance of a E6300 week 29A?

Went to my local PCWord to have a look if they had any E6300's in stock, and they did. They had a bunch of week 29A's, just wondering if they OC that well. It will be paired with my HZ's and Commando.

It's either that or purchase from an e-tailer and get the latest week chip and hope it OC's well.

Thanks. :)

As always - some chips OC well and some extremely well. There's no rule of thumb for this. Just pure luck.

However, some weeks do perform better than others.

My previous E6300 got burnt on a volt mod that went wrong. It was a 28A and did 3.15Ghz on stock voltage. I wish i still had it as it seemed a promising chip had i achieved the desired max FSB. I'm not too bothered i lost this chip as these E6300's are cheap as chips. (no pun intended)

There are some good and bad clockers within one week. We would have to have hundreds of chips to claim, that a specific week is a tad better than some others. LxxBxx CPUs are claimed be be great OCs - yet there may be some bad LxxBxx. Usually finding a golden chip is luck. If there's a choice of a 29 and 30 week CPU, it's impossible to say 100% sure which of them is better.

Cool, thanks for your input guys. I’ll give it a whirl tomorrow and see where I get. :)

I just want to get the most from my Commando.
