Hey all,
looking for the best bang for buck here. Need a ddr2 800 2gig kit for my Abit nf-m2n. Wanting to spend less than $250.00, but really looking around the $200.00 price point. And of course if it overclocks well, so much the better.:D

The only stuff I see mentioned on here is the d9 chip, and those are going for way over my budget.

Thanks in advance...

Promos. OC's "ok" apparently. Much better than elpida crap but not as good as D9. If I were buying ram that's what I'd get. No real need for uber pwn fast D9 on a daily/gaming computer, but you also don't want slow as balls ram. That kit looks like a nice happy medium :)

OCZ ram from fry's is cheapest.

Should I get that :banana::banana::banana: for my DS3 since I heard it has problems with D9 anyway?
Better than the Corsair I have now (other than the fact it is 2gb)

Yeah, that stuff has a great bang/buck ratio. Me and AFI were discussing it a few days ago. It should OC great :). At least 1000MHz.

there isnt much gskill up here in canada, what else would you suggest? Im thinking of making a p5n-e and e4300 combo but arnt sure which way to go for ram. It seems like pc6400 would be sufficient for it, prehaps something that clocks just a touch higher.

Crucial aniverssary edition 667 will do 1000 .
Its a D9GH, the very same chip of most "good" 6400 and some 8500.
Around $250

A Corsair Value 667 also will do 800!

Corsair value will do 800 mhz? i was totally unaware of this. Might be worth looking into then.

That G.Skill ram is pretty good stuff. Just done a quick and dirty test with loose timings running ram 1040 @2.2v. :)

Thanks for pointing this stuff out AFI...

Don't be the promos doesn't break any records! doesn't OC well, Many complain of it (google) Kick@ZZ in unreal w some other memory..., it should have been named budget memory not platinum...it is deceiving and picky!

Buffalo Value Select DDR-667. They aren't DDR-800, but if you're lucky they will do 550MHz at an amazing CL4-timing!! A dude - here on xs - just did it :-)

They only cost 170$, so you could actually buy 4 gigs :->
