Anyone heard of this yet? Apparently Interplay allocated a whopping $75 million for this project and will be working on it for the next few years.

Interplay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interplay) is belly-up as a developer and publisher.

"In a securities filing with the U.S. government made on November 30, 2006, an attached presentation proposed a massively multiplayer online game based on the Fallout computer game franchise, which the company previously published. The presentation projected that the company would need investment of seventy-five million U.S. dollars to complete the project, with production intended to begin January 2007 and a launch date of 2010. The filing did not address the proposal in the context of the company's financial debt.[5]"

Yeah a chunk of that money is supposed to come from "expected gains on their stock"...

I thought that Bathesda picked up the Fallout title, but it was delayed because of Oblivion. I thought they where still working on Fallout 3, but I don't know for sure. I would love a Fallout MMO, I still play Fallout and Fallout 2, it still rocks!

You mean, Bethesda (http://www.bethsoft.com/).

They haven't said much about their "Fallout 3" since a GameSpy interview in July of 2004 (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/fallout-3/529744p1.html).

Bethesda seems to have taken over for Black Isle Studios after they closed their doors, but basically no one has seen or heard anything since the GameSpy interview.

Although, Bethesda apparently still has all rights to Fallout (with the exception of an MMO); however, I would imagine that Fallout 3 has been pigeon holed.

They had a big Fallout 3 banner at E3 last year I read somewhere.

Fallout 3 is definitely still in production. Their keep a pretty tight lip but its expected that the status of its development will be revealed this year. Pete hines from bethesda has said that they have been working on it for a few years now and they wont say anything about it until they have something solid to show everyone. Though he mentioned that the developement team has kicked it up a notch they still have a little while longer to go. He Basically mentioned that it will follow suit with the other 2 and will be using gamebryo engine (the one used in Oblivion). Ive been following this game since this first words of FO3 were spoken. Its my favorite rpg series ever and i still play it lol.

I remember reading an article about game AI, and a programmer/developer for Bethesda mentioned new algorithms for their upcoming Fallout series. I was stoked when I read that, I started giggling like school girl.

Now MMORPG, I would not mind paying a monthly fee to play that... I wouldn't drop the money for WoW, but for Fallout, no hesitation there.

As far as i know not yet. They probably wont put one up until they are ready to show and explain to the public what they are doing/have done.
