Hi all
Need your guys opinion in choosing the rite (not too good n not too bad) PCI soundcard for my Altec Lansing MX5021 speaker. From the manual it has the following spesifications :
-Satellite :Two 20 Watts/channel @ 6 ohms
-Satellite Driver :One 1" hornloaded tweeter and two 3" full-range drivers
-Subwoofer :50 Watts @ 4 ohms
-Subwoofer Driver :One 6.5" long-throw woofer
-Frequency Response :30 Hz - 22 kHz (-10 dB)
-Input Connections :Analog
-THX Certified
I had a creative sound blaster live a few years back, and im comfortable with it. But their newer products seems to be perfect for gaming only, and cost a lot
Now, im using this speaker mostly for music and watching movies. And im gonna put it on P5B-Dlx mobo (has o/b sound bug). And a 5.1 channel card will do just fine.
So i need:
-Perfect match soundcard for MX5021
-Not too expensive, maybe under $70
-Doesnt have any bug, of course
-No need for 7.1 channel, 2.1 or 5.1 will do just fine
-Good for music and movies
So i just want a perfect match for my speaker, thats all and i hope it wont cost as much as creative's X-Fi and of course better than the o/b sound (ADI1988B chip)
That's all
Any suggestion will be much appreciated

thanks

I have an Aureon 7.1 Space paired with mx5021 but aureon is not 70$
I think this one will do just fine in the price you want :)

Thx Losphoron. The reason i put the 70 bucks limit is just coz i dont want to have an overkill soundcard for the speaker, thats all. I mean mx5021 isnt the best speaker set out there, so i think there would be just a little difference between 500$ soundcard and 70$ in term of sound quality
Thanks

those mx5021 they are about 200$ and not 50$ and i think you will not mistake if you take a 100$-150$ sound card.I usually like headphones instead of speakers because they imerse more in the game and in hl2 for example i feel in action.I am proud of my sound card and this speakers are apropiate to my headphones at quality.I listen rock and instrumental music so i don't need powerfull bass just subtle. This speakers are what i want.Of course 50% of the job is done by the sound card so both of them are very important.Buy a good sound card and get all nice quality from the altec speakers.

Try a Chaintec AV-710 and enable the high quality DAC.

I had this setup (AV-710 + MX5021) for a while until I switched to an X-Fi for gaming :)
