I'm going to be using this for video editing/gaming.

Raptor 74GB
E6300
DS3 or P5B Deluxe
8800GTS

are going to be my choice. I already have E6300 and Raptor.

Would http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231114 be better or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820148047 be better if you don't think about the price.

Sorry Fixed.

Thanks

How about HK compared to http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80061-9 ? Would you pick HK or I guess you can call regular binned D9GMH?

I'd go with the HK over the Ballistix myself. I'm currently reviewing a pair and they are really quite spiffy. Low voltage, tight timings and they scale well. ;)

HK looks fairly promising, but my friend told me that HK didn't like voltage as HZ series composed of Micron D9.

what's in the hk kit?

It seems that the HK uses Promos IC's: http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=4473&s=3

Thai?: http://www.overclockzone.com/zolkorn/year2007/01/G.SKILL6400HK/index.html

That is consistent with the assertation that HK uses Promos.

This HK looks like good RAM for the price, but I am not yet convinced it is in the same league as the PC2-8000 Ballistix, which is known to be high grade Micron D9GMH and which NewEgg has be giving away for cheaper than this HK: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=129867

EDIT: There another thread on this HK here, which includes results in English (not Thai as in the link above) by ZoLKoRn: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=128369

I've owned two sets of Ballistix PC2-8000 and I can tell you that so far, I am enjoying these HK's more than I did my Ballistix. The Ballistix are Crucial's highest bin D9GMH, which is good, but overall I never saw anything spectacular from them, and one set actually died on me running stock volts below rated speeds....which just reminded me of the old PC4000 Ballistix days...

I am also concerned about the possibility of a "bait and switch" game here. If these HK's (and apparently the related PK's) are really that good, it makes me suspicious.

I vote the G.Skill for the far better Customer service and support
