It looks like some kind of Oil Cooler/Oil Seperator ?? I got it with a Danfoss NF7FX compressor.

Ah damn, you won that nf7fx that was on ebay? i got home a minute too late!

And it almost looks like an accumulator or chilled expansion tank?

Yep, sure did, and it works perfect. Brand new with rubber plugs still in it, and the lines to the compressor have never been brazed to. :)
Only problem is, it didn't come with the start capacitor or relay, and I can't start it till I get a kit. I used a relay and temp protector from another 1/8hp samsung compressor and it started it long enough to see if it worked but then overheated the temp protector.
Anyone know where I can get a kit?

Dunno what it is, but I'll make somethin out of it!

might be the water tank for a refrigerated drinking fountain or water cooler, that's my guess anyway

One thing I can reccomend is not to use a 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 Refco type universal starter kit. Long ago I bought 3 different types of refco starters. It immediately killed one compressor then died on another and recently I made the mistake of using it with an old R12 compressor which it killed and then died shortly afterwards.

I actually threw all of them away earlier when cleaning up old stuff.

Thanx johann, I was just getting ready to order one of the 3 in 1 Supco from Frosty Freeze on Ebay.

Anyone know where I can get an actual Danfoss Kit for this compressor?

As far as I've used, 3-n-1's have always worked fine and continously. They are designed after all as a universal drop in for HVAC people.

Correction they are a temporary drop in for HVAC tech's while they order in the proper replacement parts.
