I used these 2Gb kits in my new C2D build as shown in my signature.

1. Team Xtreem DDR2 800Mhz 4-4-4-10 P/N:TXDD2048M800HC4DC
This 2Gb kit can be found here:
http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-800mhz-p-1645.html?osCsid=2c82c55afd84e6ef6b12fa06df449816
And here:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2751803&CatId=10

This kit runs at 2.2v at its specifications (400Mhz 4-4-4-10) without any problems. My problem is that it cannot be pushed to a tighter timing (400Mhz 3-3-3-8) at 2.32 or even 2.4v.:slapass: Note: all voltages mentioned here are those values set at BIOS.

It's a good memory kit. However, it's only good to run at its specifications.
As an after-thought, you cannot expect to much on this kit from a manufacturer who has already binned the D9 chips very carefully. As you can see they have a high bin kit with insane price::p:

2. Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1000MHz P/N: BL2KIT12864AA1005
This 2Gb kit can be found here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146563
This kit runs at 2.32v 400MHz 3-3-3-8 with ease!:toast:
However, it died after 10 days. It was returned for refund.
And I ordered yet another kit. The new kit also runs at 2.32v 400MHz 3-3-3-8 without any problems. :woot:

Since I have a CPU of higher multiplier (9X), I don't expect overclock memory frequency much on air. However, I do want the momory to run at low latency, which is at least as challenging as pushing it to run at higher MHz.

The Crucial Ballistix is a clear winner for me.:fact:

As for TeamXtreem - overclocking is luck, you just weren't lucky

As for Crucial - died after 10 days runnning at 2.32V, eh? (I'm warried, because I've ordered one of those). Did you use a fan?

Yes to these 2 accounts.

I understand it is a matter of luck. However if you consider how carefully and agressively Team bins D9 chips, you should know the chance of pushing this kit of moderate price tag (compared to the other Team products with insane price tags) is low.:stick:

As the fried Crucial, I think it is defective. I have a 120mm fan blowing to the sticks and the north bridge.:fact:

I came accroos this post and it really got my attention because I got a pair of those Ballistix. I am testing now at a tighter timing, your timings. Here is what I had before.

I also own both of these 2GB kits. The Team Xtreem DDR2 800Mhz 4-4-4-10 will do what is advertised and nothing more. For the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1000MHz P/N: BL2KIT12864AA1005 it's a different story.

I had to RMA the kit that I purchased because a module was bad. Windows would crash and it failed Memtest86. The kit that I got back hasn't given me any problems. I've set the voltage to 2.2V and I'm not going to try to find out if I can fry them.

They will do ddr 1067 at 5-5-5-15-2T. I haven't tried to find out if they will do a tighter timing of 400Mhz 3-3-3-8.

I have the Crucial DDR2-1000 2GB sticks. My P5W is not Mhz happy, so I had to resort to tight timings over high Mhz. I am running DDR2-800 with 3-3-3-6 @ 2.2V. They run great, I really like this memory.
