Hope this is allowed but have also posted this in 'General Hardware', but really need an answer asap.
---------------------------------
Hi,

A friends over in Florida at present for a holiday and will be back on the 5th of Jan. I have asked him to bring me back some ram from Newegg as the prices over her (UK) are ridiculous. I was going to go for the Super Talents up until I just read a thread which mentioned they are no longer using Micron IC's. I have narrowed it down to the below and need to make to let my friend know by tomorrow which memory I want so and help suggestions will be appreciated. If you could also list the best to worst in your opinion of the ram that would be great just in case any of it goes out of stock in the mean time.

I would take crucial for a guaranteed D9GMH

Thanks for the quick reply. What would be your 2nd and 3rd choices after the Crucials?

I wouldn't go for any of the other ones. So far as I'm aware none of the others have micron IC's, except perhaps the supertalent... although you've just said that they don't.

probably g.skill second to a mediocre OC

and then Geil for the gamble of D9's in earlier versions.

Ballistix - D9GMH confirmed - you know what you're paying for
Geil - 100% not D9GMH (some Elpida) - average
Corsair - 100% not D9GMH (some Promos) - average
GSKill - big chance of not D9GMH - not so good
SuperTalent - well ... $20 doesn't worth the risk of not getting D9, so:

get CRUCIAL :D

Either Ballistix or the Team memory from the 7th post

Nowdays it's confirmed, that crucial (5300, 6400, 8000) are based on D9GMH?

Yes, Crucial is 100% D9.

1st rev (0.01%) came on Fatbody (know that because owned such RAM myself)
and now they are 100% D9GMH :)
