Ok we play Frozen Throne on battlenet (Yes a n00b RTS unfortunatley)

I host a game and every time lag occurs (it only happens on average 1/10 games) and my speed is fine and yes I have speedtested it.

The fact is I'm sick of coping :banana::banana::banana: for it because some fag made up a rumor "it's always the host who lags".

With my experience I know thats not the case since data has to be sent from every computer not just the host.

One of our players is currently on a P3 and the game pauses waiting for him on occasions.

Can I get a link to show my n00b mates how a lan works.

It just fkn irritates me with the amount of aggression this causes just because they're to n00b to realise.

Thanks

Do you experience lag when playing on your server through LAN? 1-2 hops away?

If not then sure lag is caused somewhere in the middle. Also make sure there is no packet loss by ping plotting client hosts.

I'm not familiar with this particular game but many games are asynchronous meaning it only goes as fast as the slowest PC. So if you boy with a P3 is getting 3fps sometimes...so will everyone else.

But if your playing on a LAN there could be many other issues. Playing through a client like battle net on LAn could be a problem, Your hardware and a plethora of software settings could all be stopping you up.

Make sure you are using a good router or a good switch before you blame anyone and make sure any network settings are all correct, firewalls and stuff like that can slow your down as well...
