Hi all first post on a great website Ive bean looking and learning on here for 2 months now But can i hell as find out what my problems are .
I have the P5WDG2 WS pro Board E6600 chip Tunig 120 cooler 120 gig and 320 gig hard drives ATI 1800 x 2 graphics crossfire cards and 1024 MBytes of DDr2 PC-4300 (266 MHZ) Corsair Memory .
I bought some Corsair DDR2 PC-800 Memory to try and when i fitted it all i got was one long bleep in the bios codes before the post sceen so i thought hmm bad memory so i took it back and bought 2 sticks of Corsair Dominator xms-8500 1024MB 5-5-5-15 and fitted this but with the same results one long bleep even after changing the memory vlotage in the bios funny thing was when i tried setting it to 2.1 it was in red ? Im completely lost with this one as ive bean tring to sort it out for about 4 weeks now with no luck have any of you guys any idea what could be wrong only thing i can think of is a duff motherboard or chip .
the file bellow show my cpuz settings ive set these using 30% overclocking in the bios .
I Know my board supports 800 memory and some use 8500 im just a bit anoyed ive paid 300 quid for nothing .
thanks and Happy christmas .

P5WDG2 WS Pro is rock solid toward memory.
Did you turn the computer off and yank the power before installing? A surprising number of people yank and install new memory with the computer up and running and are then surprised when they fry their RAM.
What is the voltage requirement of the new memory compared to the stock board memory voltage? Are you massively undervolting right off the bat? Are your BIOS timings set to auto/SPD?

The automatic overclock options have never been stable for me, especially the 30% one. Reset your BIOS to factory setting, power down, install your RAM. If you are going to overclock, don't use the 30% mode.

I allways power off and pull the cable the only thing i havent done is reset the bios to factory settings and then try i.ll give that a try now .
ive only used the 30% mode as i didnt want to try anything else until i had this memory sorted .
these are the specs of the memory.
This memory is certified for SLI use: Please Click Here
The Dominator Series Twin2X2048-8500C5D is a 2048 MByte matched pair of DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs built using
Corsair’s latest high performance heat sink with Dual-Path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology. This part delivers
outstanding performance in the latest generation of dual-channel DDR2-based motherboards. It has been tested
extensively in multiple DDR2 motherboards to ensure compatibility and performance at its rated speed. This
memory has been verified to operate at 1066MHz at latencies of 5-5-5-15. The Twin2X2048-8500C5D comes with
Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), the open standard for performance module SPD’s jointly developed by
Corsair and NVIDIA. EPP SPD’s on Corsair modules allow users to automatically configure EPP enabled
motherboards with aggressive memory performance settings, for maximum memory and system performance.
Performance of these modules incorporating DHX can be further enhanced by using the optional Dominator
Airflow Fan, for even more cooling and protection.

Do that and then post back. Reset perhaps by moving the jumper, especially if you have had this problem 4 weeks as you say.
Also, only put in the new RAM, don't mix and match anything.
Does the old RAM cause issues?

well powered down unplug removed battery reset jumper instaled memory powered up still the same somethings a miss here the motherboard says it does not support this memory but loads use it and it should at least boot up with it at a lower speed eh .
No the old ram works ok ? could it be down to my power supply its a 550 watt ?

P5W-DH bios or mainboard handles memory better cause I have these 2 boards. The DG2 WS Pro cannot do CL4-4-4-8 DDR2-1000 memtest pass no matter at highest 2.4v, where my P5W-DH can do it just 2.3V memtest free of error. Rams are the same sticks 1x2G with D9GMH ! Mine DG2 WS Pro's pcb is 1.02G.

Been running my P5WDG2 WS Pro @ 400x9 for a while now... RAM is running 4/5 so it's running @ DDR2-1000 speed with 4-4-4-12 timings with no issues.
I'm using Mushkin XP DDR2-800 2x1024 and have it @ 2.35 volts in BIOS...
Much <3 for it :D

I'm running my teamgroup ddr2-667 @ DDR2-1000 (4:5) 4-4-4-12 2.2v without problem.

My Mushkin PC6400 works well with CL4-4-4-8 DDR2-1000.
I have a similar problem. when my E6600 is overclocked above 3.0GHz (RAM/CPU 1:1) my OCZ RAMS only working "by SPD" and then with 5/6/6...timings. This OCZ Rams are specified with CL4 at 800MHz and 2.1v :slapass:
