I am going to move my current 7600GT to my second system and use my current 6800GS in second system for my brothers computer. So I need a new GPU to hold me over till more DX10 cards come out.

Which one of these do you think would be the best deal; any other recommendations welsom as well.

Yeah me too, lol. If not I think I have 15 days to submit RMA. Or maybe I should just get the new retail version for $190. $20 more for security of knowing its new might be worth it.

ARe the sapphire cards good or should I look at another brand?

^Sapphire cards do not have VIVO(X1950).
if you need VIVO then buy the Powercolor or HIS X1950 Pro else the sapphire cards look good.

ok, Ive been looking and reading reviews. Looks like everyone says to avoid the new 1900gt's because they have underclocked older chips, so it would be better to get the 1950pro. however the cost of a HIS Iceq3 AFTER REBATE COSTS $220 and I can get a His IceQ 1950XT for $250 after rebates.

Is the XT worth the extra $30?

Yes, it's worth the extra $30. Better core(12 more pixel shaders, 4 more rops, 4 more tmus) and better ram.

well r u sure u wil get the rebates ???

the X1900XT will hold you more time that the Pro till the DX10 cards are better than now, maybe hold you till 10.1 is out

Is there a problem with getting a 7900gs? I saw one for ~ $150.

nice idea IMHO to get 7900GS

very cheap so when u change to DX10 u can keep it beside ti still very good for playing current games

also check those threads, i think u might find something interesting

for some reason it will not let me access these links. The reason why i was looking at the 1900 series cards was for a temporary card to use in my main system till more DX10 cards come out, plus I wanted to use it for Folding@Home to get more production done.

I am 99%sure ill get the rebate; I do a lot of rebates and have never got screwed on one.(knock on wood)

I am not stuck with just these cards. Originally I was looking at the 1900GT which seemed like a good deal and better option than NVIDia route. then some of you mentioned vivo which probably isnt too big a deal but may be worth it till i get my 24"monitor with component inputs; and for resale purposes. then I found some reviews and seems that the 1900GT are using less quality chips now compared to the first versions. so for a little more looked like the 1950 pro was a good option, but seems that the better versions run approx $220. Would get the sapphire card but does not have vivo and everyone is saying they have overheating issues. So I was looking at how much more the 1950XT's were and seems that a decent version after rebates will only be $30 more than the ICEQ3 1950pro. on the xt version it looks like the IceQ and IceQ3 are very similar, only diff being the Q3 has a slightly higher core clock but mem clock is still the same.

I dont mind spending a little more as long as its worth it; even though this is a little bit over the original starting point.

I will have to look at the pricing on the 7900 series cards.
