ok, two no-brainers imo:
Auzentech X-Meridian sound card
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4
i would probably also throw a Scythe Infinity into that mix

i think it's almost impossible to get the auzentech here in Belgium...(at least as far as i checked around-->what's the usual budget of that card?)

the xfi is the best sound card on the market period. and if you want a nice one get the one with the 64mb x-ram (fatality or elite pro) some good ram and with that budget get the 8800gtx or 8800gts no less for sure amour case looks nice a 680i mobo for future sli fun:D if you want some part models give me a pm and i would happy to help you out.

An 8800gts/x is pretty much manditory here, the rumor mill says the that R600 (ati/amd's DX10 card) is a little faster then an 8800gtx, nothing extraordinary, but just powerfull enough to regain the performance crown.
I would get an Asus P5B Deluxe, a great oc'ing mobo for the money. A 680i board if you wany to splurge, evga's 680i mobi is pretty good from what ive heard, but there suppost to be riddled with hareware problems, i heard that a beta version of there bio's takes care of most of the problems, but since i dont have the board i cant verify that. If you oc'ing definitely get a scythe infinity or a tuniq tower 120 if you can find one.
Dont skimp on the psu, i would get an Enermax Galaxy 850w psu if i where you, more then enough to run an 8800gtx, even two in sli if it comes to that. If you cant get one there the OCZ GameXStream 700w psu is good as well, and the more powerful versions of Antec's NeoHE line are also pretty good.
I like the thermaltake armor case (mine is in the mail now) more then that coolermaster case, but its up to personal taste i guess. Might want to look into Lian-Li as well, great cases, but there pricey.
PC-6400 ram for sure, super talent if you can get it, if not G. Skill, OCZ, Crucial, there all good, just choose something with low timings.
I dont know much about sound cards, but with your budget you should get one, doesnt matter how good a game looks if it sounds like crap.
Get a couple 120mm case fans and a tube of AS5 for the hsf and you should be set.
Which e-tailer are you buying from, it'll make it easier to put together a pc if we know the avalibity of certain components and there prices.

I won't buy the X-fi fatality nor Pro because more than 200 euro for only a soundcard is a bit insane...
i'm having doubts about a 680i mobo, due to the delivery problems and bios problems with most boards
Sli?i'd rather have a crossfire board, that's why i'm waiting untill the first REAL specifications are known from the Ati R600 cards
@hipno650:part models??what do you mean?
thermaltake armor question? Is it possible to remove the usb device that's on top of the case??Cause the case is going under my desk,so i need the usb ports at the front of the case...

Perhaps that money would be better spend on a creation known as books. Some of them do contain very useful information

e-tailer is a belgian one so prices are completely different from other country's but i just wanted to have an idea what other people will make out of a 2750 dollar budget...:D
pc6400 was already my idea also...had a corsairTwinX2048 4-4-4-12 in my older config i made some time ago,is this a decent one?
Enermax Galaxy is pretty difficult to get here,so an OCZ gameXtream 700 watt it is

There's no need to play God...there are people who have a life, wife and even kids and work fulltime,so they don't have the time to completely search the internet, when you have DECENT people who wanna help you when there's a simple question:slapass:

I am just offering an alternate view. Heck for that amount you posted you probably could make 3 moderately well performing computers

Yeah, that stuff will do fine, i didnt recomend corsair to begin with since there usually overpriced (quality comes at a price, but not the ones they charge for there highend stuff.) but if you already have it great!
sounds good, a few revisions of my build back (when i had a much larger budget) i had the 700w version on my list to power an 8800gts with the furture upgrade of an 8800gtx, long story short i ended up with an Enermax Liberty psu, a 1950xt.

my bad:D ,i'm getting tired now,it's almost 6am right here...
You are right about that 3 moderately well computers..But i wanna have a good one:Cause i don't want to spend evry penny i earn at my computer, only to try to be better at overclocking then the next guy...i'm getting to old for competition in any way...:toast:
the pc i use now is almost 5 years old,and never spend 1 cent to it:But when i bought it i payed almost 3000 dollars for it...You see my point?I'd rather pay a lot more today and keep it for some 5 years then to spend about 1000 dollars now,and 300 next year, and 600 teh year after and so on...

I have one pretty good computer (performance wise), one kind crappy computer, and one computer that works, but its a table for my printer right now. i dont count my pc as a full computer yet because all ive done is stress test it, not even in a case yet, its sitting on a peice of foam on my desk.
A stock black macbook, a stock emac (256mb of ddr ram and a 40gb drive. sucks big time, especially when you have 20gb's worth of podcasts & music on said drive, about 7 is taken up by the OS and the space loss from formating it, and 12-ish is taken up by programs.), and a sawtooth G4 that i dont use because it has a 550mhz cpu.
yeah, i was a mac elitest for a long time (ie: my entire life up until around a year ago.).

lets do some math.
If you seperate those 3,000 across those 5 years. That is 600 a year.
Which is enough to get a good mid-grade computer.
Now you take the BEST(desktop/workstation) computer of 5 years ago and put it against the midgrade of Today. And you will clearly see that old computer getting its ass Kicked. With things like Screens being able to be shared. You'll see it is plenty of money for a GOOD computer

i get the point, but i don't have the time to keep track of all that's changing hardware wise...the pc i have now has had his better days, that's why i need a new one...it's not that i buy a pc evry year. It's like with cars:some people buy a new car evry 2/3 year.Mine is 14 years old,has 200000 miles and still spins like a cat...but when i buy a new one i wanna have a decent one, cause i know it will take me evrywhere without worrying too much

if your buying xfi, buy the elite pro, NOT the fatality. buy either the elite pro or the platinum. the elite pro has better DACs, but you probably wont even tell the difference. the fatality's xram is a gimmick, IMHO.

send me a pm and i will get you all the parts with links that i would put into a rig like this if it was my money. the platuim is just an overpriced xtreme music so if you don't get the fatality or pro get the xtreme music for less money.
