Now, this isn't so much to do with Phas-Change, but mroe to do with mounting the compressor.
Ive got a new water chiller thats based on a Prommy Mach.
Problem is, its been designed to fit under my PC-7, but thats were the Vapo LS is. so i want to know if the compressor still works if its inverted?
I guess it doesn't, which scuppers my plans.

Nope, the top of the Chiller is pre cut.
I might be able to out the chiller unit under the vapo... so..::

which sould be nice.
if the flexible hosing is long enoght it shouldn't be any problem, but those vapo chases is pretty small so it could be tight to get another hosing go true the case.

No, it must be used the intended way up.
The cradle of springs the motor is supported on only works one way :)

//edit - could you just put it on top of the case, or would that not be good?
The main reason is the very simple way most compressors get oil.
the shaft from the motor that goes to the pump is hollow, the bottom part of shaft in the oil say has a 1/8 or 3/16 hole, the cool thing is how the oiling system works, now the interior of the shaft oil hole is tapered,it gets wider the farther from the bottom inlet hole, the slow taper inside the shaft takes advantage of centrifugal force(rotational) to move the oil upward. Because of the taper and the rotation ,it slings the oil outward and because of the taper it also goes upward. neat idea!!!!!

It needs oil, so no it won't work. As simple as that
